This unit from GE fits in most double hung windows with ease. It’s got a trim appearance and is light enough for one person to lift. (Certainly not true of the unit it replaces!)
It’s well made and seems much quieter than I expected for its size. It cools an average-sized bedroom with ease, even on the lowest setting. The remote is also well-designed and easy to use. I like the Eco setting that turns off the fan when the compressor is not running.
I dinged it one start for the poor design of the air filter. It’s made to fit in the side of the unit and comes out easily, but it must have to pass by some guides inside that make it difficult to replace after you clean it.

Most flat screens can benefit from enhanced audio, mine included, so I thought this soundbar from Yamaha would be great for watching TV, but I soon discovered it was so much more!
For the price, it really does deliver great sound to movies and TV. The extra settings for bass boost and and 3D sound really deliver, as well.
You can also stream audio to the soundbar from your phone or mobile device and it has Alexa built in, if you’d like to use it for music requests and information.
The hardware itself is clean and well-designed. It can hang easily on the wall, using the included mounting template, or sit in front of the TV if your TV is not mounted on the wall.
Using the soundbar with a TV is easy and intuitive, the included remote is nicely designed and works well. The free app lets you update the firmware and is easy to use.
I would rate the final product as 5 stars, except for one thing. I have to ding it one star for the poor documentation. I thought setup would be easy and straightforward, and it would have been, if one small fact had not been buried: the set-up app is easy to download, but will only work on a 2.4 GHz network. What is this, 2005? I spent quite some time trying to figure out why the app would download but not install. The error messages did not point me to the problem. Only after digging through the set-up doc, did I find the answer. This could have been easily identified with simple user testing and would never have been an issue if it was stated up front.

Took this on a long weekend trip and loved it! Lots of room for big and little things, well organized space, and just a real feel of quality materials throughout!
Nice, smooth, YKK zippers are big and strong. They lock easily with a TSA-friendly 3 digit combo lock. The wheels roll smoothly down the aisle or align immediately when you tip and tow the suitcase behind you.
Tough, polycarbonate shell looks good and takes a lot of scuffing around.
Nice feature if you hate straps inside the suitcase: amazingly strong magnetic closures for the straps! So easy to use, even with one hand. Yet snugs up quickly and stays put.
Overall, very well-designed and a pleasure to use.

I’ve never used an ergo keyboard like this one, so I thought I would have to spend some time adapting to it, but it took almost nothing! Your hands land very naturally and if you are a good touch typist (I am…) it just feels so natural.
Connecting via Bluetooth was simple and fast. I really like the easy way you can connect it to up to three devices. I don’t think I’d use it to “type” on my phone, but it’s great for my Mac and my iPad, with room to grow.
The wrist rest is soft, yet water resistant, so I’m trusting it will look better longer than cloth wrist rests I’ve used.
The keys are perfectly sculpted to match you finger tips and the three different height settings make the keyboard easy to customize to your favorite position, whether sitting or standing.

This vac is clearly based on the many ergonomic innovations found in Bissell’s Crosswave Cleaner. It’s light, very easy to maneuver, and loaded with useful features.
I like how it moves around with a turn of the wrist and how the handle folds back to get under furniture. It folds the other way for easy storage.
You can pull out the integrated hand vac for cleaning furniture and the pet fur attachment did a great job on dog hair before our Thanksgiving get together.
This is not a “time to vacuum the house” appliance, but that said, it’s great to pull out for polishing up, sweeping up a mess, or last minute touchups. The 20 minute run time is more than sufficient for most such jobs. It’s small footprint makes it easy to store in a handy location for those quick pickups.

This printer replaces a ten year-old unit and just in time!
I found the instructions for setup to be very well done. I’ve installed a lot of printers and I’d say the setup for this Canon was one of the best ever. The instructional docs are a perfect blend of “just enough” if you’re comfortable with tech and “extra” if you need a little hand holding. The QR codes with videos detailed anything you may have a problem with as you go through the install.
I’d like to say that setting up the wireless connection to my desktop system was as easy as the initial setup, but I couldn’t get it to work as specified. Luckily, the instructions show an alternate connection method where you use the printer to find the network instead of finding the printer from the desktop computer. When I tried this, I was connected and printing in less than five minutes!
The footprint for this printer is very nice. It’s compact for a printer/copier/scanner type of device. The print output tray pops out on its own when you print. The scanner platen allows for single sheets or thicker items like books and magazines. The print quality is very good. although it is not a very fast output. I’ll take quality over speed, however!
I prefer the multiple ink cartridges this printer uses to the typical one-piece cartridges. They seem much less wasteful.

These truly wireless headphones are great at the gym. They’re comfortable because they don’t protrude too far into your ear due to the soft earloops that hold them in place.
The sound is great with noticeably high quality bass for their size.
I like the zippered case that doesn’t pop open in your gym bag and the extra charging time gained from the battery in the case.
I had some trouble pairing the bluetooth connection with multiple devices, but since I mostly use them with only my phone, this was not a big deal.
In terms of style, I really like the metallic teal surfaces; they make these headphones look cool too!

Finally! I’ve tried wired, wireless, and “true” wireless earbuds and have been repeatedly disappointed. I wanted only three things: good sound, good fit, and good price. For a while, it seemed that two out of three was the best that I could hope for.
But no more, Skullcandy has created Sesh headphones that meet all my needs! They’re sleek, well designed, come with a recharging case that gives you 10 hours of play, and really do sound good.
I think it’s the fit… Many earbuds are either loose and hang on your ears, so the sound doesn’t stay in your ears, or they fit so snugly that the sound is good but eventually they feel uncomfortable. These earphones are snug, but light and small with soft ear cups that seal out some outside sound to make for a pleasant listening experience, but are not so snug as to become annoying to wear after 20 minutes.
They’re sweat proof, stay put while chewing or running, and have surprisingly good audio for phone calls — good for me as the listener and for the person I’m calling, who reported excellent sound quality.
The controls for on/off, play/stop, skip ahead/skip back are done with a series of clicks, double-clicks, and triple-clicks. The click is done with a slight touch to the left or right headphone and takes a bit of getting used to. Pressing on them directly drives them into your ear in an uncomfortable way, but “pinching” the button with your thumb and forefinger (as if you were squeezing your earlobe a little higher up) works great and is easy to do.
Having only one button on each headphone requires you to learn these clicks, but makes the headphones easy to use and quick to master. Also, they turn on when you take them out of the case and magnets pull them back into the case to recharge.
The case itself is compact and has a very satisfying closure, I believe also due to the magnets.
All of these features make these great headphones, but the very reasonable price seals the deal for me!

This outdoor-friendly music machine is perfect for get togethers, both large and small.
It comes with a microphone for announcements or for singing karaoke. It’s built well and has weather-resistant features like waterproof caps over all the cable connections.
The sound is amazing outdoors. We had to turn it down and didn’t even need the bass boost feature at a recent cookout.
The suitcase-style carrying handle and wheels make it easy to move and position. That said, this is a hefty machine! It has a lead-acid battery, which makes it heavy - nearly 25 pounds - but also allows it to provide many hours of use on a single charge.
Connections are easy: cables, bluetooth, and NFC. It even has a USB connection so you can charge the device you’re streaming from.
The controls are simple and straightforward. All in all, a nice device for family parties or events like weddings.

Wow! if you want to make great smoothies, icy drinks, or more sophisticated things like nut butters, then this is the blender for you. I’ve never used a blender with this much power.
I’ve been through three blenders in the last five years, so I think I’ve given some of the top brands a good go; they all claim to have “extra power” for tough jobs, but they are pretty much the same: sufficient but not extraordinary. I can’t say that about this blender; it truly is MORE powerful than any other blender I’ve tried.
First, it’s easy to use with a simple 10-speed dial with optional pulse. It also has several programmed functions for smoothies, frozen drinks, nut butters, crushing ice, and soups. The display is easy to read and the controls feel good. It made short work of a peanut butter smoothie with banana and ice. Delicious!
The most obvious additional feature is the “noise reducing dome” - a wonderful feature if you’re an early riser and want your morning smoothie without waking the household. The dome works well but does make the blender feel “extra-large” on the countertop.
My favorite accessory included is billed as a spatula, but it’s so much more. Its a paddle/pusher/stirrer designed to be able to be inserted into the blender and to move the ingredients around. It’s perfectly designed to reach almost, but not quite, to the blade mechanism. You can swirl it around and the umbrella like top keeps it from falling in too far and prevents splash from the blender’s contents. Brilliant! I think every blender should come with one of these!
This is certainly a premium blender, and the price reflects that. I’ve had experience with many Philips products and am alway impressed with the premium quality that comes with the price. Careful design, thoughtful documentation, and extras like a recipe book make it worthwhile!

Yes. It even comes with a phone cord. This is probably great for offices that still fax and have a dedicated line, but many homes don't have landlines any more.
