Yes, I've got it for my mom, she on the Go prepaid plan. You have to cut the Sim card to the mirco Sim. I overlay the micro Sim to regular Sim card it come in the box and cut off the extra plastic, it pretty easy.

Depends on the individual phone and the carrier. The software needs to be set up by the carrier to allow over seas use or it has to be "unlocked" Apple is starting to sell unlocked iPhones. They also need the capability to put in a SIM card. I would contact the carrier you will be switching the phone to over seas and ask their requirements. Unless your using the phone while on vacation then be careful of additional charges from the carrier. Data is usually the thing that hits the hardest but you can usually block data usage on your phone while traveling.

If not go on www.bestbuy.com and look for the device and purchase it online to then pick up at the store. No contract, straight out the door price.

The problem is as follows: With any AT&T locked device, they will be able to monitor what you do on the device. I suggest calling AT&T and telling them to "UNLOCK" your device (It is now legal and approved by the US Gov) and then you should be able to tether from it.

Call your provider, AT&T, and ask them because no one knows what your plan entails except the smart people at BestBuy! Seriously, you can have the folks at BestBuy look up your AT&T account and they are great at explaining what you have and can help you to upgrade, too!
