If you're not comfortable with the person you get for service, you can request connection to a Geek Squad specifically located in the U.S. I've gotten to the point that I will not continue conversation with people I cannot understand. I'm sorry for that, but I don't need more frustration added to the reason I'm calling for support. Companies should not have people who cannot convey things clearly doing phone customer service. You can request another agent, or just say thank you, and call back for another agent. It's ok to do that.

Under Federal law, I believe you can always ask for someone who speaks English proficiently. I've tried it on other phone calls, and it has worked. I don't understand them either!

TECH SUPPORT COVERS 3 different items??

WHEN 1 year TECH SUPPORT is purchased, does it cover 3 different items or just the item purchased at that time?

When I purchased my Tech Support Membership it covered 3 items. I know because I've had all 3 electronics serviced since I purchased the product. Also, I did not purchased the membership at the time I purchased my new PC. I purchased it 45 days after the fact.

Will the hardware installation part of the service include adding ssd to laptops?

I'm looking at the deliciously priced Toshiba 17.3" in the bestbuy premium edition, and I'll be getting a ssd to install as the boot drive. Would geek squad be able to help me install a ssd? Honestly it's not a hard procedure if you know computer basics, which I don't.

was suppose to be but the girl didn't do it and was agrevated at me for asking. I went to the Best Buy in Fishers IN. the sale man was great but the Geek squad was terrible!!! I regret buying the Geek squad package!!

It depends on the product. Some products do not include the accidental damages clause, which includes spill damages among other damage. You will need to mention the specific product to a bestbuy associate.

Tech Support will assist with any technical, hardware and software issues you may have. Normally, damage from spills is covered by a separate warranty that can be purchased. Tech Support is designed to help resolve problems rather than replace damaged items.

My reactive answer is "no". Since u chose to do business elsewhere, then go there for support/service. Geek Squad protection is good and should be reserved to those who have not tried to save a couple bucks elsewhere.

Does service include transferring data files from my old device?

I am looking at purchasing a new laptop. If I also pay for Geek Squad Tech Support, does it include having a technician transfer data such as photos, music and mail files from my old computer? (both computers are Macbooks)

I call them GOOF SQUAD since they replaced a 3 week old hard drive in a Gateway and lost the 3 DVD'S I gave them for complete back up. They gave me a blank computer - nothing - NADA! Blank screen; clean new hard drive -= no windows, no nothing, and said tough luck and that took 6 weeks!!!

I have Geek squad protection plan on 3 computers, but just bought a new computer from Best buy to replace one of the old covered geek squad computers. Can I transfer the existing coverage.

renewal

Renewed ,my geek squad tech support on January19, 2014. It is April, 2014 and still getting notice to renew.
This was charged on my Best Buy card. Please stop sending notices to renewal. If you do not seeing my renewal, I need to know. Best Buy certainly charged me for this service.

Sure, they can be wired together. But if you want to connect them "wirelessly" you will need a wireless router. (Which you may have in your home/office)
