I see Lenovo Yoga 11 is advertised as 500 G SSHD + 16 G SSD on Lenovo website, however, the model in Bestbuy says its 500G HD. Is this why the model on Lenovo website is more expensive than the one Bestbuy sells?
the one on the website has a hybrid hard drive one that is both ssd and regular hd, that adds to cost and does add performance though not as much as a full ssd
It definitely could be. Since the 16gb SSD drastically improves performance.
Depending on what you will use this for, If its not for much heavy work and you have 10 more seconds to spare, the Best Buy version would do you just fine. I would estimate a lifespan of about 3 years before needing something newer due to processor not keeping up with standards.
I've read in some forums that you can, but I wouldn't recommend it. You might lose a lot of drivers, e.g. (Web) Camera, Touch Screen, Wifi, etc. I know everyone prefers 7 (myself included), but I would advise against downgrading.
You would have to have your own license but the specifications match Windows 7. I cannot speak for the tablet functionality and you may have to hunt down drivers.
Yes. But I wanted more drive room so naturally I went with the conventional one. Surprisingly it doesn't weigh or slow it down. I am very happy with it.
Depends on person and what you are going to use it for. I tend not to like sony products their hardware is good but the software tends to be poor quality. Lenovo products are good built and I like the fact that they do not usually include too much software that I don't need. Both sony and Lenovo products are well built. The yoga is more portable and flexable while the sony offers a bigger screen.
It depends on the usage habit. Usually my laptop batteries last for at least 4 to 5 years. Not talking Asus here. Asus batteries last for 2 years only.
You could expect the battery life time to last you some 3 to 4 years. It may also depend on how much charging cycles you may have on it, meaning how many times you connect it to the power supply, sometimes computers will wear out much faster when they are on the road, sometimes, some who leave it charged 100% in their lifetimes will eventually have the battery not trained and it will not ever last.
Last I checked, they were sold out. But the 11 Inch orange Yoga was only for the higher end line of the Yoga products.. They didn't offer it on the low cost one unfortunately.
I have installed CIV IV and CIV V and both work well on the high end. Total War 2 Rome however required a bit of a sacrifice in video quality to make it run smoothly. Heroes of Might and Magic V also required some sacrifice in video quality in order to play it smoothly.
Yes, for the most part. I've installed Game Dev Tycoon, Trackmania and Minecraft on it. I played with the Minecraft settings and got it to be moderate performance.
App gaming is fine. It's not geared up for a gaming system. You would need a better processor, one of the I-7 quad core with 8 threads, probably 12mb of memory and a 1TB hard drive. Also, I would make sure it has a dedicated video chipset instead of using the CPU video. Opt for the 1080p scree (1920x1080). That is my recommendation if you are a heavy gamer.
