This really depends on how much you want to spend. I went in thinking I wanted a Bose soundbar, but after talking with the guy in the magnolia center, there are much better sounding bars with much better range, especially mid range that many cheaper priced soundbars have difficulty delivering. You need to turn the volume way up to hear dialogue but then an action scene will blow you away. I'm looking at the HEOS soundbar, $799 but haven't decided yet. I bought an LG soundbar 3-4 years ago and it sounds good for the price, $250ish. I just picked up a pioneer blu-ray player (BDP-80FD) for $199 on sale. Same thing applies here. Many blu-ray players are packed with apps and streaming options and skip on quality for blu-ray playback. I suggest getting a player that is designed for great playback and let the tv stream if needed. Don't skip on the HDMI cable either, I was always skeptical but delivering a clean signal to the tv is important. I picked up an audioquest cable, cinnamon. Seems to provide a clean signal but pricey.
