Depending on your carrier or place of purchase (Best Buy is one), you only have 14 or 15 days. I would take it back if it is having software issues. Just make sure of your return time.

I would install a program like Advanced Mobile Care to scan the phone to see if your apps may be causing issues. If that doesn't work contact your carrier.

A:

Depends on the carrier and you'll probably have to unlock the phone. Some carriers give you the unlock code, but i'm not sure about AT&T. There are other ways to do it off the record but it's more advanced. It will not work on Verizon or Sprint, as they have a different network frequency. So your only choice is T-Mobile or another local provider.

My Galaxy S4 is operating on Android 4.4.4. I believe 4.4 is "kit kat", and so it can use this operating system. Mine came installed with it, not sure what is required to upgrade.

Plug in a mini usb cable from your computer to your cell phone, and download and use Samsung Kies 3, or, if you have a pair of go nads, click the start button, click computer, and on the left hand side under computer click samsung, go to DCIM and drag and drop your files that way. If you're on a mac, you're plucked. I don't deal with that hipster shpit. but if you WERE on a mac, just download the same program dummy, not calling you the dummy, just the entire Macintosh community. Kudos.

I faces this issue several years ago when I upgraded my son's phone to a 'smart' phone. At the time I only had a flip phone that allowed only talking--no browsing, etc. However, ATT still offered the unlimited lifetime data plan which I purchased for my tech-savy son.. Knowing that I would eventually upgrade to a smart phone capable of web browsing I wanted to add the unlimited data plan to my "dumb" phone in order to have it when my hardware supported it. At that time (Aug, 2008 I think) ATT would NOT allow you to purchase data plans unless you had a data capable phone. Based upon a recent upgrade of phones that occurred in Nov, 2013 I believe that you are forced to purchase a minimal plan with data if you buy virtually any smart phone. I doubt that they even sell a phone now that doesn't have data capability. A quick call to an ATT store can surely resolve this matter with you.

If you want to do anything other than phone calls on your phone, you will want a data plan. If you send/receive photos or emails, some apps definitely use data. I would suggest getting a data plan!!

Iphone 5s is a great smartphone! It's going to be hard to find a cheap plan...But most plans have unlimited txt and talk...What gets us is it being a smartphone...which comes with unlimited data usage...Good luck on your choice!

Smart scroll is in the pull down menu and to the far right. And if you push the windows looking icon in the right hand corner it will bring up all the pull down menu items. I found when it was on it didn't scroll so I turned it off.

To find out if your phone is an original one, you can just call your cell phone provider and give them the IMEI or whatever number they ask for.

As for the Smart Scroll and Smart Stay:

Smart Scroll: I found it very hard to use this feature, honestly. You look kinda silly tilting your head up and down in public just to scroll a web page. I think you can change it to leaning the phone though. Just bob you head in the right direction. It's very finicky.

Smart Stay: It works best in well-lit areas. As long as it can detect your face (they say eyes, but who knows!), the screen will stay on. If you look away or move the phone away from your face, the default screen-off time starts.
