No you do not need both. It comes with the conversion kit for propane. Only way you need to purchase the connector for $39.99 is if you want them to hook of the range when delivered.
To utilize LP fuel source, the 5 surface burner orifices, 2 oven orifices must be exchanged with the provided LP orifice set, and the GPR adapter must be reversed.
I just purchased this range and I was surprised when I first cooked a Pizza because it turned the oven off after the baking was complete. Also, the Pizza was cooked to perfection.
I haven't noticed the display panel getting hot during oven use on the Samsung. I haven't touched the stainless steel part, but the actual display does not get hot. I had a Whirlpool that I exchanged for this Samsung and the Whirlpool display did get hot and the handle got hot too when using the oven.
i don't have the manual any longer but i remember it said something about sabbath mode and it had to do with Jewish cooking ? it didn't make sense since not everyone buying this Samsung range is Jewish but i guess its just an option.
Thanks for the question. The Sabbath Mode for Ranges, including the NX58F5500SS, is designed for use on the Jewish Sabbath and holidays. The feature disables the energy saving function which would normally turn the oven off after a period of time. For more information, please refer to pages 47-49 of the User Manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website.
I am looking to purchase this range but we have LP not Natural Gas. What are the BTU's for your burners & oven when this range is converted to LP? I know it changes the BTU's but how much do we lose with the conversion. Thanks.
Needed to have a Samsung service person out for a different reason but he mentioned that most of his calls are for control board issues -- like this one. BB can give you the phone number to call for service. I recommend you do that even if you don't have extended warranty. I'm not suggesting you pay for service, call to see if they will send someone out for free.
