This what we used the mount for and worked fine. As the mounts were not adjustable and the studs were not set up to be centered on both the wall/tv, we added cross beams to the studs and mounted to the cross beams. Worked great and I know it's not going to come down.
Do i need put spacers when mounting my samsung un60f7100 TV? The TV has a flat back but has a 1/2 inch indent where you tighten the scews for the rails/ arms. Thanks
If you still have space between the mount and TV, after mounting this item and tightening the screws into position, then yes, I would recommend installing spacers as well to fill in the gaps.
Once the TV is mounted there are two handles on the bottom of each mount that you can pull down and the the TV can be pulled away from the mount and the lifted off the bracket.
I need to correct spelling on my previous answers. They should say "TV has side-mounting ports," not porch; and "height of the TV on the wall," not wa!!, My brain can spell, but my fingers apparently can't.
The turning handle in each mounting bracket loosens or locks the tilting mechanism. It covers the three middle screw holes, which makes them unusable for adjusting the height of the TV on the wa!!. But it's a difference of only a few inches. See my other answer on access to TV outputs.
This mount allows a 3-inch space between the back of the TV and the wall. So it is hard to plug in anything once the TV is mounted. I plugged in all the cables and cords before I finished mounting mine. But I forgot to attach the power cord. It was a struggle to attach it after mounting. The mount tilts, but it doesn’t allow enough space to make plug-ins easy. If your TV has side mounting porch rather than back, it will be easier of course.
I had this same situation. I mounted the bracket into the 16 inch center studs and then slid the portion attached to the TV to center it. No problems, very sturdy, my TV weighs 50 lbs. I had also asked the Geek Squad about this and they assured me it would be fine.
We just bought the Samsung 55" TV (UN55D8000Y) and tried the Sanus VisionMount but could not get it to fit, despite the box saying it fits up to 70" and reviews saying they've mounted the same size Samsung TV with it. So, before we go buy another wall mount, can anyone please tell me if there is a Rocketfish wall mount that specifically will fit the Samsung 55" TV model UN55D8000Y? Please and thank you!
I have a Samsung 46" 7500 series and the other person is correct, it doesn't fit out of the box. It looks like a few others don't fit either because the TV is just so slim there is only 1/4" subset on the screw. So after trying 2 different mounts (both not fitting properly) I settled on this one and hit Lowes. At Lowes I was able to pick up 4 nylon spaces which were perfectly sized (1/4" tall and about 3/4" in diameter) and then everything worked well together.
there are 2 screws on the bottom of the hooks, loosen them first and pull on the hich handle. Make sure you have someone holding the TV while you do this.
If you are using this mount, you would need to unscrew/detach it from the mount. I would recommend that you have another person help you with this, so you do not damage your TV and/or mount.
You installed it incorrectly/ you have to reach underneath and pull down hard to release the tv then by hand flip them around so they are in the right direction
I just posted a review that mentions this problem... with a pro-active suggestion of tying strings to the levers BEFORE you mount the tv so you can pull them like rip cords. Okay a little late for that... you don't have to pull hard on the levers to do the job. I suggest a coat hanger wire with a hook bent in at the end. And patience.
Are you sure the hinges are against the wall or is it just the metal pull swivels that are attached to them wedged against the wall? I had that happen on one of my bottom hinges and actually had to pull my T.V. up off of the top of the wall bracket and lower T.V. to release it. I then made sure that the metal pulls were hanging down from the hinges before lifting the T.V. back onto the wall bracket. depending on size of T.V. make sure to have help, even if it is just someone telling you what is going on as you will be in the front of T.V. and what you are dealing with will not be in your line of vision. Also make sure your top adjustment leveling bolts are all the way backed out on your hinges so that you can clear wall bracket when you lift it off.
Thank you, Ashley. It worked out fine as you can see from the photo. The locking wheel for the tilt made it a little tricky to get the screws in the vertical slots I needed. But I was able to squeeze them in.
Shouldn't be hard at all. You should just have to loosen and remove from track, then undo and attach to new 55 inch. Yes from you picture you should be able to raise the TV mount. As for centering it looks good there so if you just raise it should stay centered.
