wanted upgrade from old cannon..didn't get it
on April 9, 2019

from Placerville
I had an older version of Cannon printer (mx470) that was starting to malfunction often so i looked to this 4210 to upgrade.
I thought the mega tanks were an awesome upgrade from those pesky cartridges that I was constantly changing and they are. During setup I must have printed 30 or more pictures to fine tune the settings and also tried letter paper printing, envelope printing, and much more and the tanks haven't even budged. I can't imaging how much I can print with these huge tanks before having to add more ink. So that is a plus.
The speed , quality of pictures and overall performance are all about the same. For a family that just prints a few pictures a month, prints up homework, addresses envelopes it's just fine. The Wireless Direct is a nice feature also. My kids can do their homework on their laptops and send it wireless to the printer to print up. I can print pictures from my phone also. great feature!
One thing that was actually changed for the worse is the paper feeder tray. It used to be in the front for easy loading of different sizes an types of paper. Now if you have your printer on a shelf or against a wall you have to feel your way around to get the different size paper or photo cards into the slot. there is a sliding paper guide that you must open or close to the size of the paper. So not being able to see the guide you must feel around behind the printer to adjust it. Then you would think that since you adjusted the paper guide the printer would know the paper size, but NOOOO, you then have to go to the menu screen to select your paper type and size. Which leads me to the worst part of this printer.
*THE MENU SCREEN*
The menu screen has also not improved in 5 years since I bought my older Cannon printer. It has actually got worse. It has always been tiny but at least previously you could tilt it up to get a better view of it. But not anymore it lays flat towards the back half on top of the printer. So if you have your printer on a shelf above your computer (see pic) good luck trying to see it. Also it is not back lit so have a flashlight handy to light it up so you can see it.This was my biggest gripe when I reviewed my old one and Cannon has not improved it.
Hopefully the mega ink tanks will make "upgrading" to this printer worth it but unless several improvements are made in future printers I probably wouldn't invest in another Cannon.

great sound, ok fit

trying these Jaybird - RUN XT Sport right out of the box was not a good fit for me. Luckily they come with several choices of ear cones and fins that can be changed to fit your ears. I have tried several combinations of cone and fin and cannot find the perfect fit. The cones either fit to tight where my ears feel like they are going to pop or to loose where they feel like they will fall out of my ear. I am currently using the #1 cone with the #3 fins and even though they haven't fallen out while walking and exercising I constantly find myself pushing on them because they feel loose like they could fall out. Maybe I have strange ear sizes but I will continue to adjust til I find the perfect fit.
Sound quality is what you all want to know about so i will say the Jaybird - RUN XT Sport puts out great sound. I listen to music from country to rap and they all sound amazing. Music with deep bass comes through clear and deep and lower bass more vocal music also comes through neat and clean with these earbuds. There is an app which allows you to change settings for different sounds and music but I found the levels right out of the box were set just fine with me.
These are very easy to charge with the including carry case/ charging station. They advertise a charge lasting up to 4 hours but I have not come close to wearing these earbuds that long and have never used up all the battery life. the other nice ting is the carry case holds a charge so if you are out with no place to charge your buds , just inserting the buds into the case will charge them a couple of times before the case runs out of life.
The control buttons are a little hard to use. You must push the buttons on the outside of the buds to answer calls, change the volume, skip songs, and pause music. its not a soft touch button either and must be pushed with a little force. So for me who has a hard time with fit I hate changing music or answering calls because the buds get pushed more into my ear and I have to readjust every time after pushing a button. When out for a walk I just let my playlist play and dont answer calls to avoid any movement after I get it in a position I like and it feels comfortable.
These may just take more time to get used to because my last wireless buds had a wire that went behind my neck which gave me a little security that if the a bud fell out of my ear it wouldn't hit the floor and possible break. I am going to have to learn to trust the fit and stop fidgeting with them.

amazing video
on October 12, 2018

This is my first go pro and it seems I got in at the perfect time. I got this about a week before going to Disneyland as I thought it would be perfect for recording us on rides. It was amazing.
If this is your first Go Pro like me you will find it very hard to learn about it. The only instruction that come with it are a series of pictures that tell you how to open the case(very hard), install the battery and SD card, and charge. After that you are on your own.
So after many hours of you tube research (which there wasn't much on the 7 black yet because it was just released) I was ready to take it to Disneyland.
I figured while being on roller coasters , water rides and speeding "Cars" that the picture would come out shaky, mainly because I was screaming and shaking the whole time, but when I downloaded the video to my laptop and watched it, the picture was incredibly stable and very clear due to the hyper-smooth image stabilization. It was like watching a Disneyland 4k commercial.
We took it on water rides and purposely got it as wet as could be to see how water proof it was and never had a problem with recording.
The biggest problem I found was that the battery only lasted not even 1/2 of our first day there. By the afternoon the battery was dead and had to head back to the hotel to charge it. I will definitely buy the double battery charger and extra batteries to have at the ready when the battery dies. Also if you do not plan to use the go pro around water you can take the charging door off for easier access to the port without having to take the whole case off which can be frustrating and very hard.
I did not have time to learn the live streaming capability to Facebook live but will definitely use that function in the future. What a cool way to share your experiences with friends and family.
It also comes with a voice command to turn on or off the video or to take a picture. I found that this doesn't work well in noisy areas as I had to repeat "start recording" several times before it would turn on.
There are so many other things I want to do with this camera that I should have waited 6 months or longer to review it but the main reason i wanted to post now was the amazing stable video you can shoot with this is definitely worth the money.

I like it --- kids love it
on September 12, 2018

When i picked up the box I thought maybe something else was included in it. The package was very heavy. Turns out majority of the weight is the unit itself. I like the weight and sturdiness of this LG - LG PK7. I did feel a little weary when my 10 year daughter picked it up to carry around listening to her music. It is a little heavy for young kids.
The sound right out of the box was awesome. the bass pounds pretty good, not like having a separate sub but nice highs. There is also an enhanced bass feature that i didn't notice to much difference with my music but my teenage boys thought was great with their music. i also liked the clear voice for when I play my ESPN podcasts through the speaker. It seems to level out the voice output and not distort it like some speakers do.
As far as the lights, again not a major plus for me, even distracting at times but my kids think it's the coolest thing when they are sitting in the man cave playing video games. They also downloaded the app so they can control the colors and patterns of the lights.
The battery power lasts for a long time. We charged it overnight when we got it and it lasted for an hour while I played with it, 2 hours more with my daughter and at least 6 or 7 hours more while playing in the man cave without being needed to charge it again.
Old guys like me think its a solid bluetooth speaker while the younger generation will love all the bells and whistles that come with it.

good sound quality and comfort
on August 10, 2018

I must explain that these are replacing a several year old pair of Turtle Beach wireless headphones that were being held together with duct tape and had chew marks from my dog, so anything would have been an improvement.
So first of all the comfort. The RIG 800HD is a super lightweight headset that has a 3 position adjustment to fit my big head as well as a comfortable head strap the hold the headset in place even when throwing a rage fit. I wore these for about 3 hours the first use and never felt any discomfort or need to take them off. Also I forgot to charge them overnight and when i put them on for a gaming session the next day was able to play another 2 to 3 hours without the battery dying. I haven't pushed them til the battery is dead but I would say you could easily play for 6 to 8 hours with out having to recharge.
One reason I gave the 4 star rating was for the Dolby Atmos sound it promises. After playing the first few sessions i downloaded the Atmos software and didn't really notice much of a difference with the surround sound. If iI turned my PC volume almost to the max I could notice a little difference but not enough to call them full immersive audio cans.
The mic sound and its muting option are way better then my previous headset. Before friends said I sounded like I was under water but now they say I am coming through loud and clear. Also to mute the mic I don't need to fel around for a mute button I can just lift the mic upward and it mutes itself.
Even though I didn't think the Atmos added that much quality to the sound the sound is very good without it. The EQ has 4 setting which all deliver a different but excellent sound quality. The 2nd option really had deep bass which sounded awesome as bombs are exploding.
Overall I really like the headset but don't get to excited about the claim for Dolby Atmos surround sound.

average wireless BT earbuds. Overpriced
on June 1, 2018

When i opened the box it looked very high end. Nice box design, a carry/charging case and different size ear pieces to make the perfect fit. But then when i opened the carry case the first thing I thought of was those original big bulky Bluetooth earpieces that people use to keep in their ears all day to look important. You know the people that you laughed at because they had this growth coming out of their ear and were talking to people who weren't there.
Yes these buds are that big. And after trying different earbuds that have the little flexible wing that goes inside the ear to hold the bud in place I have decided that these over the ear hooks are not needed anymore for a good fit.
One other thing that disappointed me was how you have to hook these up to charge them. You not only have the USB to micro cable to hook the charging case up to the computer but then you have to hook 2 tiny, tiny, tiny micro cords up to each earbud inside the case. As a big guy with big hands this was very frustrating, Most higher end wireless buds at this price point just have contacts inside the case that connect with the buds and you have wire free charging.
So my review up to this point would have only been a 1 or 2 but when I actually tried them out the sound wasn't bad. There is no app to make sound modifications which again for $100 or more earbuds there should be.
For phone calls only the right earbud has sound which is strange. If you are outside or not in a quiet area it's very hard to hear. I just had my tv volume up a little and had to mute it when taking a call. Also The people on the other end of the call can hear any noise going on around me when trying to talk to them.
The google assistant feature is kind of cool. Just press the play button twice and you can ask google anything like directions, nearest store etc and it will come back with answers.
For this Rowkin - Surge I would pay maybe half of what the asking price is but there are many better for the $100 or so they are selling these for.

sound great, fit so-so

So I have gone to these new style of earbuds with the flexible wings that hold the buds in your ear snugly. I use them while shooting baskets at the gym. I previously used the kind with the hook piece that went over the ear but I think those look very nerdy. These little wings that go on the inside of your ear hold the buds in place just as well as those hooks maybe even better. The only reason I gave them a 4 star is because the cord that goes around your neck is very short and I have a big head. There is not much play in the cord so often if I turn my head quickly I feel the earbud being pulled out of my ear.
The sound is awesome. While shooting baskets I turn it to noise canceling and can barely hear myself or others dribbling the ball next to me. When I am out walking my dog with them I turn it to ambient sound and can still get high quality sound but can also hear if others are approaching me on the trail or hear if a car is coming. It's nice to have both features.
I like that all the controls are on 1 little bar. Once you learn which button is for what it's easy to navigate between phone calls, volume, and changing songs. Tap the play button twice to move to the next song, 3 times to back one song. Very simple.
The Bluetooth connected very easy but when I used them around the house I left my phone in a central place and if i wondered 15 to 20 feet away or went behind a closed door I lost the signal or it cut in and out. Not a big problem, I just have to carry my phone in my pocket while cleaning the house.
Overall the sound is excellent i just wish Sony gave an option to lengthen or shorten the neck cord to fit individual comfort.

I have several pairs of wireless Bluetooth earbuds but hate the ones that have the over the ear hook (to nerdy) and the ones that don't have any kind of thing that keeps the earbuds in your ear (falls out).
These Jabra - Elite 45e Wireless In-Ear Headphones have a little flexible wing that rest inside your ear and holds them very securely in your ears. the actual earbuds also fit perfectly and block out all sound around you. When I first tried them with music volume at about 1/2, I could not hear my son who was about 10 feet behind me trying to get my attention. They also come with different size ear fittings to get the perfect fit.
The sound quality is awesome. music booms through the earbuds with good bass. Setting the volume at about 1/2 was plenty loud even if you were in a noisy area.
The google assistant button was very cool. I just pushed it once and asked for location of closest restaurants and the google assistant came back telling me of restaurants in the area.
the sound quality of phone calls was very good too. I tried first just calling my landline and that was very clear so I tried calling my sister in another state. Again the quality and clarity was just as good as calling my landline from inside my house.
Definitely worth the money.

made the sound bar and sub even more awesome

I got the Sony HT-ZF9 soundbar and sub with the Atmos technology for that immersive sound. But after trying it and not really getting a true surround sound, I decided to get these Sony rear speakers to complete the unit. They are awesome!!! true surround sound without having to run speaker wire around the whole room. just plug them in and they wirelessly connect to the soundbar.
You can control the sound with the remote from the soundbar too. while watching movies crank it up and get movie theater sound or late at night just turn them off and just use the soundbar.
great addition to the home theater.

All in one laptop for college
on April 30, 2018
Posted by: internetuser
from California, USA
I got this for my son who's going off to college. First of all I'm hoping that it's main use will be to write papers and take notes in class but we all know that won't happen. I also got this Acer - Nitro 5 15.6" Laptop so he could play his video games and not have to take our big bulky desktop into his small dorm room.
After his first few hour stint of playing games on it he said the graphics were very impressive and the speed even more so. He played several games that may lag at times on our desktop but not with this laptop.
Also he said he never felt heat coming off this Acer laptop as the coolboost feature keeps the system from heating up.
The appearance of the laptop is very good looking. The red back lit keyboard looks very cool but not to over the top or flashy to be used professionally too.
The weight may be a little cumbersome to carry around all day in a backpack but hopefully he will get used to it or maybe just buy a little Chromebook for carrying to class, we will have to see.
Overall he is very happy with it and excited to start college.
