DEAD EASY INTERNET SECURITY – FIREWALL – ANTI VIRUS / MALWARE
I never thought that much about how to actually review internet security software. I have always used antivirus and internet security software and for the most part works great until it does not and you get a virus or malware. Nothing is ever 100% foolproof (speaking as card carrying fool myself). So, backup frequently is my main advice.
BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY – was quick and easy to download and install. I ran a full system scan (several hours) and it found nothing (as I expected). I’m already pretty careful with my browsing and download habits, but sure sometimes I click on cute cat picture or celebrity gossip without thinking about it. Without a full blown test lab, I can’t really speak to how well it handles suspicious behavior until or unless it fails. So how do you prove it works? I’m not going to actively seek out shady sites to try to infect my computers and networks. So what else can I tell you?

I have not found any negatives so far. It is throwing some false positives, but maybe that is OK as it is better to be safe than sorry. A quick google search shows that many AV programs are also giving false positives on this particular file that BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY also flagged.
RECCOMENDATION
Until now, I’ve not heard of Bulldog (seems to be about 10 years old), but with most other free and paid AV companies basically turning their products into marketing spam engines for more expensive products, it certainly is worth considering BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY for your antivirus needs if for no other reason than to avoid getting pop up ads from your AV provider selling you “dark web insurance”.

USEFUL KEYBOARD / COVER FOR IPAD ESPECIALLY FOR TYPING
Though I use the IPAD primarily for graphics sketches, until now it has been a hassle to switch to keyboard mode for short note and annotations. The LOGITECH - COMBO TOUCH really took my use to the next level. It replaces and upgrades my prior case (named after a river mammal) and the additional keyboard and stand flexibility are great (see pics).
The Keys feel are light and have a good click. There is not much key travel, but that is to be expected. The function row has been swapped for device shortcut keys for things like home screen, brightness, volume and media controls, these all work and are fairly useful. I would have liked function keys for when I use my IPAD to remote into other computers but acknowledge that the function keys would be of limited utility on the IPAD itself so this choice makes sense.
The COMBO TOUCH backlight is very nice and was able to keep they keys lit, even in direct sunlight.
The COMBO TOUCH Trackpad though is really the star of the show and the main reason to get this case over other keyboard cases, it works well and adds a lot of value. The click anywhere function works as advertised, though the corners of the trackpad are noticeably softer and less nice to click.
I also like that the COMBO TOUCH moved the smart connector to the side of the IPAD rather than the back, and that the keyboard itself is detachable. I primarily use my IPAD as a drawing tablet and appreciate being able to yank the keyboard off the side of the tablet and set it flat on the table when it's time to draw.
The COMBO TOUCH case itself can be positioned in multiple angles. The cloth finish on the case feels really nice and it overall is very rigid (which is a good thing)

OVERALL RECOMMENDATION
I can fully recommend the COMBO TOUCH over others I have tried. The added flexibility adds a lot more functionality to the IPAD and makes it more of a convertible laptop.

Very good sound Quality. For me it took several extra steps to get the SAMSON – XPD2 USB WIRELESS MIC to work at an acceptable level. Once I had it working, it worked well, and I liked it overall. I tested the SAMSON – XPD2 USB WIRELESS MIC on 3 different systems (and with 2 difference XPD test units), all Windows 10 PRO, all from various makers. The main issue I had is that even with all Windows settings and device gain settings maxed out, I could barely get any input volume from the mic via the USB dongle.
Once I overcame the input issue (tips below review) it worked really well for my needs, which is hands free voiceover for video blogs.
If you want a hands-free mic for close distance, maybe a video demonstration or a lecture in a small room, then the SAMSON – XPD2 USB WIRELESS does a very good job. Beyond 20 feet (between mic and the USB receiver) or any with obstructions (example 5 feet away separated by a drywall wall), then you might want to look at a different wireless solution. In most speaking / presentation situations, this is fine. The presenter is in the front of the room with the PA / Soundsystem / Mixer, which then projects sound into the room. So most people would rarely need more than 20 feet of distance between them and the PA system. You would not want to “risk” walking into the middle of a room away from the USB receiver, in my opinion.

OVERALL RECOMMENDATION
I can only recommend this for close distance work, where hands free is still required. The sound quality was great and it really made it easier for me to do what I needed with free use of my hands.
Minus 1 star for not working though USB port and for really short line of sight distance.

OTHER INFORMATION / WORK AROUND FOR WEAK INPUT VOLUME
I could only get a tiny amount of input level (like 3%) when using the mic via the USB dongle. I even had a replacement unit sent from tech support and it had the exact same problem. (This was on 3 different PC’s). The manual says it can be attached to any USB power source and used without a PC. I attached it to 1 AMP USB plug (from a ROKU) to power the usb device for pairing and pass through of analog output. I then plugged LINE-OUT from the USB dongle to LINE-IN on my PC and bingo, I finally had full signal strength on audio input. In the end this is not that big of deal as the end result was the same. It allowed me to use the SAMSON – XPD2 USB WIRELESS hands free as I needed to do. Still, it did not work as advertised for me. In all likelihood it is an incompatibility with a default windows driver for audio devices or a USB driver or something else. Even so, there are no special drivers indicated as needed in the manual or the company website (that I could find), so that implies to me, that it should be fully compatible with modern windows. Instead of support asking me to install a driver or upgrade firmware, they sent a new unit. So, if it was as simple as a driver, I assume they would had said something. Again, support was prompt and offered to RMA the original unit quickly.

There are times where I don’t want to blast the full stereo system and floor speakers when gaming. Until now the gaming headsets I’ve tried sounded pretty good but were heavy and uncomfortable (for my big head), or they were comfortable but did not sound all that good.
I think the RIG 500 PRO HX strikes a good balance between audio quality, features, and cost. At first, I thought it was too tight, but then I realized you can “pop out” the ear cups and move them down a notch. Now they fit my big head perfectly and comfortably. They feel secure without being too tight. The microphone sound quality is actually very good. I did some audio captures on my PC and honestly it sounds better than most of my recording gear.

The sound was good, especially with ATMOS effects turned on. For music listening it was only average, but these are not supposed to be Audiophile headphones. They are gaming headphones. I tested them both on my PC (WIN 10) and X-BOX One connected via the controller. Note that on the PC, unless you have an all-in-one jack on your PC you will need a splitter/combiner to join together sound and mic on the same cable. It would have been nice if they included this in the box since it is billed on as PC or Xbox and I don’t know that many desktops that have the combined jack already. Additionally, the cord is not that long which is good when you are connected to a controller, but not so much for a PC. If they gave you a PC combiner cord that was a few feet long this would have solved both problems at very little cost.
I like the detachable microphone, so you know 100% that you are “off the air”.
Overall, it is really solid choice for a gaming headset.

NOTE: Not all games officially support the ATMOS mode so check online for your favorite game titles if you are buying these for ATMOS. Keeping in mind these are just 2 speaker headphones. Sure the effects sound nice but I am pretty certain there are not 10 discrete speakers in the headphones.
OVERALL RECOMMENDATION
The included ATMOS 2 year code elevates the RIG 500 PRO HX above a started headset. The comfort elevates it above most headsets even costing 2-3X. The sound quality is average and appropriate at this price point. Again 100% immersive playing games like Forenza 4, Doom and more.
I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a good sounding headset that wont break the bank.

It is about 50% quieter than other air purifiers I’ve owned.

Unlike other air purifiers I have used, you don’t have to fuss around with complicated poorly designed phone apps to run the unit. For me this is a big plus. I don’t need every appliance in my house to be “connected”.

Keeping in mind my readings are low to begin with because I use filters and air cleaners, this brought down about 60% (from ~10 ppm to 4 ppm). This was in a 11x11 foot room after a few hours of use. I have a relative with high dust allergies, so I’ll be moving the SHARK AIRFINITY 4 AIR PURIFIER FAN around the house after I stir up dust while cleaning for father’s day.

The TWEEZERMAN - BROW GROOMING KIT - STAINLESS STEEL is a good kit. The included case was nice. The devices were high quality. I found the pointed tweezer really hard to use to snag one stubborn hair. But that probably has more to do with my dexterity. I could see where in the right hands it would be nice. A good quality speakerphone is a must have and not as easy to find as one might think. The AVERMEDIA - USB CONFERENCE SPEAKER PHONE (AS311) works really well as a personal speakerphone, and does an excellent job blocking background noises while proving clear audio for both the listener and speaker. I thought I had a pretty good speakerphone already. After I installed the AVERMEDIA - USB CONFERENCE SPEAKER PHONE (AS311) several people asked if I got a new speaker phone due to the increased call quality.
I really like the well lighted control panel, which takes the guess work out of mute, volume, set.
I also like that it uses USB-C instead of USB-Micro for the interface.
I like the compact size (maybe a large set of oversized playing cards), and it takes up much less room on my desk than my prior speakerphone.

Unbox and plug it in, at least for windows that is all you need to do. I would suggest you use the included USB cable. I initially used one I had laying around to charge my headset, and nobody could hear me talk. I realized after the call that I must have had a “charge only” cable and not a full USB data cable. As soon as I switched to the included cable, everything was perfect.

I do wish they could be paired to more than one device at a time, so that I could seamlessly move between using them on my phone and laptop without going into Bluetooth settings on each device. But that is pretty minor, and it is still hit or miss which devices in general support dual pairing.
Playing around with equalizer settings on the phone help elevate the music performance closer to my taste. I find the bass a little lacking, but not bad. I even turned on the bass boost in the app, which helped, but was not perfect. Overall, though, they performed well across my music library. It is not fair to compare these to super high-end buds costing 3X to 5X more, but they still very good. My other buds ($3X) have much better bass, but they are giant in comparison and stick out of my ears like Frankenstein’s monster’s bolts.
The PIXEL BUDS A-SERIES are small comfortable, almost invisible. I like the auto pause when you remove them. The noise reduction on the microphones is pretty strong. There is no active noise cancellation on the speakers, which is OK at this price point.
I’m not a big fan of tapping my ears to skip ahead or reverse or whatever, so I don’t really use those features, but they are there if you do. Use your phone volume controls or your voice (google assistant) to change the volume.

This unassumingly packaged trail cam packs a lot of features and good overall quality, especially for the price. It has been about 6 years since I purchased trail cams and wow have the features and quality greatly improved. Easy to use and set up the REXING - H1 BLACKHAWK TRAIL CAM has a lot going for it. Definitely worth a close look. I do wish they included a “starter” memory card and “starter” batteries, but most things don’t, so that is not a big knock. I’m not sure what is the native size of internal image sensor due to conflicting information between the manual, the BB website, and the mfg website. I think it is really only 2MP, but I’m not 100% on that, so check on your own if this is important to you.

SETUP
Just stick in batteries and an SD card then work your way through the menu system to fine tune “everything” from picture quality (PQ) to video quality and duration. You can tell the REXING - H1 BLACKHAWK TRAIL CAM to use or not use Side Motion detectors. You can program motion tracking sensitivity and more.

During my initial testing it seemed to not be taking pictures, but I think that was due to a full SD card, and me not being careful with the position of the switch. (make sure you see the countdown timer). After a few more days of careful testing and setting detection for only nighttime hours it seemed to work fine.
TIPS
Don’t pull the SD card unless the device is fully off. Somehow, I managed to “Lock up” the unit and had to pull the batteries to get it to start up again.

Don’t waste your memory space on more than 2MP images, as near as I can find out that is the native sensor resolution (according to the manual). Also, although videos are fun they chew up a lot of memory space, so maybe drop the video length to only a few seconds. Because the camera uses AVI the videos are not very compressed.
Make sure when you put into “ON” mode you watch it count down from 10 to 0. A few times I got no images because I either did not put it into ON mode (forgot) or I slid the selection from ON/SETUP/OFF too quickly.
Make sure you have a large memory card enough to get through a day or two of captures. If the card fills up, then it just stops taking images instead of overwriting old images. You can also set an internal timer for example dusk to dawn.
PICTURE QUALITY
The picture quality is OK to Good. You won’t be winning any nature photography prizes with the overall PQ, but it does what it is supposed to do. Even in bright daylight the pictures are a little grainy. Perfectly fine, but this is not an SLR camera (nor is it supposed to be). My old 3MP security cameras had about the same seeming image quality which makes me think this is really a 2MP sensor. Regardless, it is perfectly sufficient to see what critters are eating your plants.

This thing (ASUS Chromebook Flip C536 ) is built like a tank and screams quality throughout. If you are looking for a high end Chromebook, you owe it to yourself to take a close look at this one.
My primary use for a Chromebook is “couch surfing” while watching TV or when I just don’t feel up to the whole “windows experience” (eg power on, 20 minutes of updates, reboot, then out of battery).
Being able to use this as a true “convertible” to fold it in half and use it as a tablet is really nice.
GOOD or BAD for you to decide what is important to you and how you use it.
First as others have mentioned, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C536 is heavy at more than 4 pounds it weighs more than any laptop I’ve had in the past 6 years. The increase in build quality comes at a trade off in increase weight.
My other < 2 year old Chromebook from google only weights about 1 pound. That being said it is already failing, so maybe there is a case for higher build quality.

Second, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C536 is big. With almost a 16 inch diagonal screen, it has a pretty large footprint. This is not something you would casually toss in a beach bag for example. However, as a desktop replacement it is a worthy contender if you don’t need Windows Apps. I think it would also make a great / tough student computer for example.
The specs are great, especially for a Chromebook. With USB 3.2 C you can directly run a monitor or you can also use the full size HDMI port.
The Audio is fantastic. It sounds better than a recent wireless speaker I tested.

looking at the packaging, it mentions nothing about supporting Dolby atmos. I went to the store and put it back on the shelf. This product isn't on the logitech site, where is best buy getting this information?
My understanding is that the ATMOS APP (DOLBY ACCESS) from the MS APP Store will support any type/brand of headphone / speaker, since it is all simulated anyway. I don't know why the box and literature don't mention it. I suspect a licensing agreement issue. Meanwhile with or without the logo, it is my understanding you can use the app with any combination so speakers or head phones as long as you "Subscribe" to the app.

How do I enable Dolby Atmos for the 535 headset? I see nothing in GHub, and Windows only has Windows Sonic for Headphones. Is this a program I need to purchase and download through the Microsoft Store? Thank you.
I am by no means an expert on all things Dolby so I can only tell you my experience.
Yes you have to install the "free" Adobe Access App from the windows app store. Then you have to "Subscribe" for the right to unlocking ATMOS capability on the APP. (This is a Dolby thing so don't blame Logitech). When I did this a few months ago, the first year was free, then each year was something like $10-$15. Some of the headset makers are including a free coupon for an extra year. One nice thing is that the app works across multiple platforms with the same subscriptions (at least PC and XBOX is what I have).

I purchased these headphones but GHub does not find them. I've tried reinstalling, rebooting, updating, restarting, no luck. This product is not listed on the Logitech website which gives me concern as to support. Anyone have any suggestions?
I don't have an exact answer as of today 12/18 I download Ghub (for the first time) and it found them right away. In my case the Dongle is plugged in, Windows 10, and the default speaker is the G535 headset.

We have been unable to get any of the local network channels. We have scanned this every way possible and have rotated the antenna in all directions. What are we doing wrong?We are missing all the big ones, NBC, CBS, FOX and PBS.
if you did not do so already then look at a site like antenna web to get the general direction on where to aim the main antenna. then you can fine tune from there. many phone have compass apps to you help you find where 125 degrees is located (as an example)
disconnect everything and carefully re-attach. little cable goes between motor and dish. long cable goes between motor and controller box. make sure it is plugged into back of controller on the outermost port that says antenna
make sure controller box is plugged in and turned on you should see a red light on the back of the dish if it is all connected properly.
connect the antenna out (either the build in cable or the spare port) to your receiver / tv and scan for channels.
if that does now work, the contact mfg.

Buy default you can connect 2 sets (there are 2 ports) , but with a good quality splitter / amplifier you can hook up as many as you want.
