Unfortunately, Jason Statham tried to act in this movie. Unlike the Transporter series where he was only required to pretend to drive a car very fast, they asked too much of him. This is much the same with Jessica Alba. Other than to offer a big smile, they tried to make her than she can deliver. Too much hype for this movie, because the Mechanic fell flat on this face

The supporting cast for this science fiction movie was outstanding. Amy Adams was her usual outstanding self. She received an Oscar nomination for the role, so it seems there was some agreement as far as she was concerned. Nevertheless, I could not rate this movie higher because there were a number of either borrowing from other past science fiction movies or the story was a little difficult to follow. Such as Amy Adams past at the beginning and where she and Jeremy Renner's characters were going at the end. But I had the most trouble with the use of themes or objects from past films, such as the octopus-like character from outer space. Was this creature not in Tom Cruise's War of the Worlds? There was a giant creature with dragging tentacles, if I am not mistaken. For a supposedly new movie, it really borrowed from the past.

This may have been an adaptation of a John Le Carre' novel, but it was terrific with Tom Hiddleston as the British spy and Hugh Laurie as the international arms dealer. This was a quite different type of role for Hugh Laurie from Dr. Gregory House in the TV series House. Shows how good Hugh Laurie can be when given the chance. It was unfortunately a miniseries that ended too soon. Typical great example of the high level acting that can be seen on BBC.
Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all - and lost it. The former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene had earned two Michelin stars and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive star though, Jones will need to leave his bad habits behind and get the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.

Although this was not necessarily an original script it still was a good Bradley Cooper character movie. Still had a good supporting cast that made the movie enjoyable. Surprise cameo roles by Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. But also a surprise role for Matthew Rhys who was terrific outside of his TV American role as Soviet spy.

This was a terrific remake of Disney's The Jungle Book. The picture was fabulous in the scenes in the jungle, and the animation of the animals was so realistic. But Neel Sethi was terrific as Mawgli. This is a movie for both young and old. It has been a while since the last remake of this Kipley novel, but with the advance in technology for the animation, it made this really an outstanding remake. It took a while to recognize the voices of the animals, but once you catch on it was easy to match the voices with the big stars that help make this movie.

There was some reservations on how anyone would attempt to play Leonardo Da Vinci in a running TV series. However, once you accept Tom Riley to play one of the most renown geniuses that ever lived, it becomes entertaining. Riley plays Da Vinci with some tongue-in cheek that make it more enjoyable to watch. Really surprising how well the first season was shot, with a very good supporting cast. One of the better Starz made-for-TV series.
Director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic) directs this critically acclaimed period medical drama about Dr. John Thackery (Clive Owen), opium addict and gifted surgeon in resident at New York's notorious Knickerbocker Hospital, and his bloody exploits with his assistant Dr. Algernon Edwards (Andre Holland). This complete collection of the first season's episodes include "Method and Madness," "Mr. Paris Shoes," "The Busy Flea," "Where's the Dignity," and more.

Clive Owen was always a good actor. He doesn't let you down in this story that he plays a famous surgeon in a not so famous hospital at the turn of the century in New York City. Very good supporting cast and was worth the purchase of the first season. Would like to see what happens in the second season.

You start out being hopeful for this new version of Jason Statham or even Chris Vance as the Transporter. But this really was not a good fit for Ed Skrein as the "new" transporter. Sorry, to say but it was very difficult to believe that Ed Skrein could even be close to what had come before. Not like when they change James Bond, which are done with some style. Poor fit.
From executive producer Tom Hanks, the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers tells the story of a collection of soldiers from the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Armed Forces, also known as "Easy Company", during World War II. The ten-episode story spans from 1942 during the group's training to the conclusion of fighting in Europe, and focuses on the experiences and tribulations of the individuals fighting for the Stars and Stripes in addition to important events such as D-Day and the liberation of Holocaust survivors. The series features stars including Damian Lewis (Homeland), Ron Livingston (Office Space), Donnie Wahlberg and Michael Fassbender.

If you liked "The Pacific", which was an excellent series on the war in the Pacific, you would like "Band of Brothers". Although it was not written by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, they directed some parts of this series. This series followed a group of men from training camp to the European campaign including Normandy. Really, an all round fine group of actors that included Damian Lewis and Donnie Wahlberg. It was evenly strong in every series, like the Band of Brothers, which had much to do with the writing of Stephen Ambrose, and good directors.

This was a relatively outstanding miniseries about WWII in the Pacific. There were stories within the story about individual soldiers on and off the battlefield. Each ministory was evenly good possibly because of the executive producers that were Tom Hanks, Steven Spielber, and Gary Goetzman. One or two of the ministories were also directed by one of these producers. But many of the stories were directed by other very good directors. All-in-all, a tolerable miniseries of the war in the Pacific, a subject that has been gone over many times but mostly with a depressing outcome.
