The Acacia Strain started to find their trademark sound on 3750 though the sound is pretty raw and in your face. If you need to figure out where to start with your first purchase, this is a good one, but also check out the rest of their discography if you can.

Soilent Green, which features vocalist Ben Falgoust from Goatwhore, is a very unique kind of metal band that incorporates Louisiana sludge metal with grindcore and death metal that endured dealing with the deaths of former members in '04 & '05. They managed to stay strong channel it through their writing on new material. Here, we have their fifth album (produced by Hate Eternal frontman Erik Rutan), their most focused and angry album to date. Get it along with everything they've put out if you don't already have it. If you don't, you miss out.

We're just around the corner from release of Fallujah's new album Dreamless, and I felt I had to get this. Despite The Flesh Prevails being a stellar album, it's distorted in some parts, most noticeably in the intro of Starlit Path. How this got away from the band and their engineer Zach Ohren is mind-boggling, and I hope that it's not like that at all n the new album. The Harvest Wombs doesn't seem to have that issue. Being that it was their first album, you'd expect some hiccups, but there's none to be heard. The mix is nearly perfect especially in the guitars, the drums are clear though not too loud, and the vocals are audible without any distortion. Very surprising indeed. I don't know what happened on The Flesh Prevails. Like I said, it's stellar. I just wish there was an explanation for the sound quality issues on that album.

I say that Richard Patrick is embracing his past in Nine Inch Nails on this album not because the other Filter releases weren't industrial, they all have that. This is the most industrial Filter has ever sounded, and it's the catchiest as well. Get this and the new Deftones, the perfect pair.

Crowbar may be one of the heaviest bands out there, but The Acacia Strain is easily a contender for that title. Continent takes what they've done on The Dead Walk into a more concentrated fury with heavier riffs, bass, and drums laced with acid-tinged lyrics. This is The Acacia Strain, pure and simple. Also check out the rest of their discography if you're new to the band.

In 2004, Peace Sells along with the rest of Megadeth's back catalog was remixed and remastered with Dave Mustaine's supervision. In 2011, for the 25th anniversary, the originally released mix of the album was newly remastered and packaged with a bonus CD with previously unreleased live audio. In my opinion, the 2004 reissue was already pretty good. You could go either way this and that, or get both.

Musically, it's similar of Deceiver Of The Gods, but it's not a rehash. It's Amon Amarth's first concept album. Upon first listen, there's definitely the epic vibe here. Is it theatrical? No, but it's what I expect from the band. Get it now!

Say what you want about Man Of Steel: it's epic, colossal, and loud, all in a good way. Anything Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) does, expect it to be visionary. Highly recommended.

I have to disagree with anybody that says the production on this album is weak. It's raw and heavy sound certainly fits the music. Approach this with open ears.
