A Perfect Fit For The "Unbreakable-Verse"!
on March 12, 2022

Some may not find this movie as great as myself- going with 5stars, not entirely based on the film in, and of, itself, but because of how much it surprised me, in the best ways possible.
From the previews, I expected one thing, (a more supernatural tale,) and instead got a film that would so neatly fit into the "Unbreakable-Verse" trilogy; an introduction to a new character that sets up almost perfectly into MNS's gritty, horrific "supers".
On its own, Malignant still offers plenty of thrills and surprisingly, action (the police station scene is downright amazing, seeing this new "monster" chew thru an entire PD had me rewinding several times to see it played out repeatedly).
Watched this out of boredom one evening and it ended up being a favorite of 2021. Beyond grateful I took a chance on this one!

Out of Nowhere

What a fantastic game, stuffed full of extras to keep you playing, and one of the best uses of a license: toy, comic, or movie around.
While there's typical met expectations of a marathon of races and online multiplayer, as well as quick races, it's all the extra stuff that sets it apart-
Split screen 2player racing, which is so frequently overlooked, is SO appreciated! The Hot Wheels license may appeal to kids & collectors, the easy, addictive gameplay is also going to be loved by adults & hardcore gamers and is a PERFECT "bridge" game for a parent & child to play together
- beyond expected, in-depth livery editor. Would have been incredibly easy for developers to select a group of Hot Wheels cars and then select 4-5 of the premade, different paint jobs HW already has on offer. Instead, a rather large selection of stickers and up to 1000 layers allows you to completely make your fave HW *YOURS* and display it in your profile, as well as share and download others from the HWU community.
- track editor. Create your own tracks to race on, including special track pieces found in actual HW play sets & completely unique pieces only able to be pulled off in a video game (web shooting spiders, magnetized tracks to go up walls and along ceilings, etc). Like the livery editor, you can share creations with the HWU community!
-your own "basement" HWU is a typical racing game where you drive, drift, and shoot for the gold, only driven as the actual miniature 1:64 scale cars. Races take place in real world size locations that have set down a track. Among these locations is "your" basement, which you can customize in-depth as you unlock paints, materials, decorations, etc.
-use of other licenses. Batman, Back to the Future, Street Fighter, TMNT, even Barbie all have a presence... coming soon? Monster Truck racing
While two different games, the best stamp of approval Is that we bought Forza Horizon 5 right before this and they've both found the same amount of playtime.
Absolute must own!

Hard call...

There's currently no better way to watch these masterpieces, but it's also hard to call this "essential".
Not entirely sure who this is directed at; for the "Ringers" out there, the omissions of the Appendices are a hard pill to swallow, and for those that simply enjoy the films, the pricepoint is still off, even at the discounted price.
The real audiences for this are going to be those Ringers who already have the prior releases for the Appendices, want the best viewing experience, and want to own as many of the collector's editions as possible.
The case is amazing, held together by magnets that offers multiple ways of folding & displaying it, but nowhere near makes up the difference in pricing.
Still, despite its drawbacks, I'm grateful I grabbed this. A great display piece & conversation starter, as well as (for now) simply the best way to watch these at home.

Heavyweight battle

This being the 4th film in Legendary's Monsterverse, you're pretty well going to have your mind made up on whether you're a fan or not, and if you haven't enjoyed the series as a whole, this isn't going to change your mind any more than if you ARE a fan.
But, for those who are on the fence- especially considering the lengthy Godzilla that started the series, ending with some (rightful) frustration in how little the "Big G" was utilized in its runtime, but have found redemption as the series has rolled along, this culmination of the "Big Two" will be a fun ride.
I'm going with 5 stars here, just because of how joyous the movie is; giant monster films simply don't need to be perfect in plot, and as long as the wrecking outweighs the plot holes, (unless you're a true "critic") it's fun to get lost in not just the giant monsters, but the outright level of destruction they impose.
As my inner-child, introduced to my favorite genre, horror, via B&W bunny ear TVs almost a half century ago, grinned ear to ear, I looked over to see my 8 year old son doing the exact same. THAT can't be beaten.
Is there some frustration involved with Godzilla vs Kong, or more directly, the Monsterverse itself? Definitely yes.
There's nothing more than some video monitors and images of some of the other big creatures and a "Final Four" bracket played through the opening credits to tell you what has become of the other Kaiju who had roles big and small in King of the Monsters, simply swept away to get to our new story.
And "swept away" was just too common in this series, particularly when trying to make a connection with any of the humans throughout- big name draws just set aside after each film, eras set aside.
Still, that ear to ear grin remains, because it's just too fun watching the REAL stars punch each other in the face with a skyscraper.
Escapism at some of its finest.

Not What I Hoped, but Better Than Reviews

More of a 3 1/2 star game, so rounding up.
First, wait for a sale- at $40, it would be an okay value, and at $30, pretty good deal. As it is, it's just too... not excessively great at anything it does to warrant its near-AAA pricing.
And that's really it's biggest downfall; of everything it does, nothing stands out in any of its systems, graphics, gameplay- nothing is *bad* but nothing done is going to make you say, "boy, I hope XYZ from Werewolf is something my favorite series experiments with in its next instalment!"
It's commendable, and even fun, that you get to play as a werewolf- so points there, but it's often hampered by restrictions and repetitive loop of fighting. The story is interesting and flows well... but that's sidetracked by voice acting that's all over the place, from good to bad *within the same character* fighting is fun, second-nature, quickly-learned button combos, but always taking place in PS2/ early PS3 "walled in" rooms... all examples of everything Werewolf does coming with an asterisk.
Technically, I encountered, even with patches, about 5 crashes throughout one and a half games- generally when a cutscene would kick in, but checkpoint system is generous enough that 4 of the 5 times, it booted up to the next scene. Cutscenes themselves were decidedly unexceptional, outside of lighting, which was gorgeous.
It had its hooks in me as far as a nice distraction from more story-driven or complicated games- it does deserve kudos for involving me enough where I felt compelled to start it up a second time to polish off getting a platinum. But, at its asking price, it needed to offer more. There's some promise here, and I hope Cyanide keeps the license and learns from what they produced here. Stealth either needs to be done away with or improved, fighting needs more & better skill trees, and being boxed in during every single battle needs to be left in the past. Had they used each biome/ hub as the living entity the spirits in each hinted at, offering the chance to tackle missions in an open world with random encounters, this game would have easily met expectations.
Fun for awhile, but wait for a sale.

While the original Evil Dead may not have aged as gracefully as Evil Dead 2 (and nor should that be expected with the original's budget,) and in doing so, has its many shortcuts highlighted in its transfer to 4K, it remains one of those films- heck, maybe the ONLY film- to have inspired generations of filmmakers to attempt to tell their stories on budgets made largely of friends' pocket change (for better, but largely worse,) because it's now that almost extinct creature where this group of friends managed to solve almost every issue said budget created.
There remains flaws in the technical department, and some may, in today's climate, eschew THE scene involving a demon possessed amorous tree (recreated in the amazing Alvarez remake,) but Evil Dead never gives you time to linger on budget limitations; a fast, frenetic assault on your senses, equal parts horror and Three Stooges level violence.
Evil Dead 2 serves as both remake and sequel- although, despite that proclomation from those involved, it's best to just attack it as a remake (which causes its own issues when consuming Ash vs Evil Dead TV series, as IT uses the original as its continuation, while the 3rd FILM, Army of Darkness, picks up after Evil Dead 2... I prefer to think of them as 2 alternate universes nowadays, each with their own Ash Williams. There's just not enough Bruce Campbell for one world, anyway).
And, if sitting through Evil Dead was an assault on your senses, ED2 is D-Day followed by both atomic bomb drops.
This isn't Spinal Tap being able to crank it up to "11," this is Sam Raimi blowing by eleven all the way to "21".
By the time Bruce Campbell has a meltdown, seeing everything in the cabin laughing along with him, you'll be right there with him.
Evil Dead 2 is STILL, almost 4 decades later, arguably Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell's masterpiece, and between both of the included films, you'll see the beginning of so many knockoffs over the next 40 years, they're too many to list, while serving up maybe a handful of worthy "inspired bys".
The 4K restoration is amazing, almost too successfully. These are two films almost best served with age and grain found on VHS or directly duped DVDs/ BRDs- in that regard, I'd urge fans to hold onto those old versions in their collection and not use this as a replacment set, but as an addition/ augementation. These movies definitely deserved this kind of love and attention, but think of it as an Evil Dead family trip to a 5 star, all inclusive spa and resort. You're going to have a great time, and you'll want to revisit it when possible, but home is where the heart is; home comes with every scribble on the wall from your youngest, scratches in the baseboards from moving furniture in, and that one closet that's always just a little too dark, no matter what bulb you pop in, and in these Evil Dead films, home has all that in those untouched transfers.
As far as extras, the original Evil Dead is going to leave you wanting, having only audio commentary- which I have yet to listen to, but lists it as "Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell". Interestingly enough, the old Anchor Bay DVD has 2 audio commentaries listed, with Bruce Campbell being a separate listing from Raimi and Tapert. Unsure if they've been combined, if this 4K has 2 tracks like the DVD, or if this is newly recorded commentary... But, that's it. The Anchor Bay DVD offers more, with the highlight being an outtakes and bloopers reel, although there's posters, TV spots, and a couple other lower desired extras. The shame is the lost of the outtakes/ bloopers.
On Evil Dead 2 however, things fare better- surprisingly, outside one of the old Playstation 2 Evil Dead video game previews, it appears all the Anchor Bay extras have been ported over to this Lionsgate release, but a handful of Lionsgate's standard blu ray of ED2 have been removed, replaced, or renamed... quite a few, actually. Still, there appears to be extras here either new or renamed from the old blu ray release, and the extras are plentiful enough for ED2 that they're split between the 4K disc and the included blu ray. So, again, maybe hang on to any old copies you may have for this reason, as well.
All in all, die hard Evil Dead fans absolutely should own this but, by nature, neither film lends itself to "being its best" in the high detail 4K UHD offers. It is, much like a real "Deadite" may be, both a beautiful & ugly creature at the same time. Perhaps not how you want to see it at all times, but even at its worst, its still shockingly gorgeous and you won't pull your eyes away.
Lastly, this is a beautiful steelbook, as is with most of these Best Buy exclusives. I often "front face" these steelbooks for display, and picking which side of this steelbook to show off is difficult.

Quite a bit to like here, but the additions of Danny Glover and Danny DeVito is where it can be hit or miss.
The additions themselves and their story within Jumanji is quite good, but once body-swapped into Jumanji, unfortunately, the various actors portraying them throughout (Kevin Hart, The Rock, and newcomer Awkwafina,) are haphazard in their portrayals of their geriatric counterparts.
Also falling into the uneven category are the jokes: most land with laughs, but where the first film was able to fall back consistently and effectively on being in new bodies, (along with great impersonations,) the Freaky Friday motiff is largely gone here, and can't be relied on for the consistent humor. With that reliable source of humor gone, more variety is needed, and again, it just doesn't always land.
What can be counted on are bigger and more extravagant action sequences, and here, Next Level succeeds. Dune buggies driven by our heroes chased by ostriches is topped by them being chased on foot over a series of multi-level, rotating wood bridges by enraged Mandrills.
Jumanji: The Next Level is a fine sequel, and I sincerely hope a third film is on the way. That said, be aware that while the magic of the first film is still there, it ebbs and flows in comparison to the strong current that made the first film such a great surprise.

Gently eccentric patriarch Nathan Gardner (Nicolas Cage) was trying to eke out a simple living for his family on the New England farm he inherited. Their existence would take a terrifying turn after a small meteor crashed onto the property... and it's radiation wreaked bizarre and catastrophic transformations on surrounding plant and animal life alike. Passion project take on the H.P. Lovecraft chiller from director Richard Stanley co-stars Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Q'orianka Kilcher, Tommy Chong. 111 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. So, why isn't it?
Lack of digital copy?
No... at the low prices RLJE releases their films at, (the incredible Mandy (also starring Nic Cage going back-to-back in his frantic best since Vampire's Kiss for RLJE,) and Bone Tomahawk being other must-owns from them,) it's become standard for their films to bypass this feature. A true shame, because of how good their films have been.
The loss of a star is simpy due to the lack of HDR in a film that demands it- "color" is right in the title.
The film itself, the performances, the FX, music... ALL of it is 5 star material, otherwise.
For those unfamiliar, COOS is based on an HP Lovecraft story, and he's often been given some great treatments, and COOS may be the best yet. (The story has been given several film treatments, and if you enjoy 80s horror, the film, The Curse, was also based on COOS).
A meteor falls in the backyard of Cage and his family's isolated cabin, and a plethora of strangeness begins- from strange smells, the disappearance of the meteorite, voices from their well, mutations to animals, loss of time... from madness to body horror, COOS has everything in place to bring the creepy vibes.
The film did more than bring Nic Cage's crazy voice from Vampire's Kiss back, it also brought director Richard Stanley out of a 2 decade long retirement, who has stated this is the first in an HP Lovecraft trilogy, with The Dunwich Horror on deck next.
One can hope he handles each of the next films with such care, and if so, HP Lovecraft fans are in for a real treat.

Media Molecule has given us tastes of using your own imagination before in the LittleBigPlanet series, but this is on a whole new level.
After tutorials, some patience, and some time, you'll be creating art, music, games... or just experiencing and playing the hundreds of users' creations- whether photorealistic food, 3D modeled artwork of Deadpool in action, taking a stroll through Wonder Wharf from Bob's Burgers, or playing recreated games or their own interesting games, there's never a shortage of things to do in Dreams.
Making it your own experience IS the fun.
If you decide creation isn't for you, then just enjoy the THOUSANDS of games others have created. There's no right or wrong way to experience Dreams, while giving you more to do than your wildest dreams.
In our current status of social distancing, for a... disc that unlocks SO much, at 2/3 the price of a single blockbuster, Dreams allows you to lose hours of time, realize it's time to rest, and still awake knowing there's much more to explore and/ or to learn.
A must-own.

Best of the Zombie Army series!
on February 14, 2020
Posted by: doc8998
Verified Purchase:Yes
The popular spinoff from the Sniper Elite series is back with its 4th installment, and it's the best one yet!
First- this was for the Collector's Edition, which either sold out or changed SKUs along the way from my preorder. (Gave me a "scare" on occasion when my preorder itself was in place, but the link was "dead" HA).
The CE itself included a new (okay, not "new" as he's undead,) playable character- a recently returned aviator... who's also a marksman...
It also includes a redemption code via the website (not via console) for the superb synth heavy soundtrack, which gives off the original Romero Living Dead trilogy vibe.
Lastly, for the statue collectors, it includes a zombie shark statue. The statue is gorgeous, amazingly detailed, but perhaps a bit smaller than what you'd normally expect.
Meanwhile, the game itself has had some more "back to the drawing board" moments- it's been a bit since I revisited the first 3 games, but it was certainly more single player friendly, and it appears to have given more options and upgrades.
The core gameplay- sniping zombies, the majority of which follow the classic "slow mover" variety, with more and more special types being thrown in along the way, in the hopes of getting the series' signature "YES!" moments- XRay kills which follow your bullet from firing through your target's body, destroying organs and bones in gruesome detail along the way, is back in all its glory. In no way, shape, or form has this grown tired throughout the 8 games in the series, especially when the results become even more unexpected than anticipated- seeing the bullet cause destruction through a zombie, only to change trajectory off a bone, then hit the grenade on the belt of a nearby zombie, or potentially similar results, always adds an element of the unknown the moment the slow motion kicks in.
The game has a complete campaign available for single player, or up to 4 people co-op online, as well as the same options for Horde mode upon a variety of maps.

Will the ps5 be in there

The actual PS5 console? No.

This is a collector's edition of the game that includes a large replica statue of Mjolnir (Thor's hammer,) along with a few other small physical items and some digital "goodies" to redeem for use in the game in the PlayStation Store... it also (as I recall) does NOT include an actual game *disc* you DO get the game, but it will be via a digital code you, again, redeem on PlayStation Store... despite the ridiculousness of including a steelbook *FOR THE DISC* lol (this is done to tempt some into possibly purchasing God of War's regular edition at another $60).

This is not a God of War-themed PS5, like the recent SpiderMan PS5 that sold out quickly.

While I find the lack of the game disc (which costs pennies to print) to be a scummy practice, these high priced, highly-sought collector's editions are becoming necessary by developers. The cost to make these big-budget games rivals that of huge Hollywood productions, while the $60 price paid (now becoming $70) for the "regular" edition of games has been the standard for near 2 decades. (Heck, back in the day when there wasn't an "across the board" standard for video games, some new Nintendo games were being sold up to $100).
So, developers have, more and more, begun relying on these collector's editions to help offset the costs associated with development, because scaling the $60 from 20 years ago to keep up would be closing in on $100 today. By issuing these collector's editions, which sell out to either the mega-fans of the series or characters (or the "sharks" who swoop in, cause them to sell out in a minute after going up for purchase, only to post on eBay for double the price to the actual fans,) this helps bring in cash they'd otherwise lose if they attempted to sell their games at $100 apiece.

There ARE, on occasion, "branded" versions of consoles (like the aforementioned, recent Spider-Man PS5 console,) but they are always clearly marked as the PS5 (or XBox) CONSOLE. Many will include the game (the Spider-Man PS5 is being released to hype up the upcoming Spider-Man 2 video game. The game comes out next month, and as such, does not include the game, because it's not out yet).

So, while the price may have your eyes watering, this is simply the game and both physical and digital goodies for the hardcore God of War fan, but no PS5 console/ system included. As this is becoming more common from developers, please remember, if the console IS included, it will say so, and, in the photos, often likely show the system.

Hope this helps!

Warmest regards!

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G Cell Phone for AT&T: This Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G cell phone can perform more daily routines efficiently and is packed with power while equipped with an intelligent battery that's big enough to share. The 6.9" Infinity-O display creates near-perfect images and features high-quality cameras with 3D depth sensing and 100x Space Zoom capabilities, capturing more details to create a realistic image. Backward-compatible with 4G networks.

Do you get any kind of discount by trading in S9+ for an unlocked S20 Ultra 5G? If so, how much? Also, since my old phone service is with AT&TV Wireless can I transfer info from the S9+ to the new phone and use it?

For the first part of your question- you should receive a discount on your old S9+, as long as it's in working condition and in good shape. How much of a trade in depends on these variables, but I can say that my old S8+ in working order, with no nicks or.scratches netted me $200 towards the S20 Ultra.

As for the 2nd part of your question: yes! Once you bring your phone in and begin the process of registering and setting up your new phone, part of the process will be to transfer your photos, contacts, messages, and apps over to your new phone. This can be a bit of a lengthy process, depending on how much you have on your old phone. To expedite the process, you're best served to backup your photos onto your computer or into the cloud and delete them, as well as any apps you may have on your phone that you no longer use. Some of your apps will continue to download in the background even after you leave with your new phone, but this part of the process took about an hour. And yes, I'm an AT&T customer, as well.

All told, I spent about an hour and a half in store, and some larger apps finished downloading once I was home on my WiFi connection. Good luck on your new phone!

In order to do so, everyone will need a controller, but local play- as long as everyone has a controller- supports anywhere from someone playing alone, all the way up to 4 players.
I'm unaware of how "busy" the online portion of the game is, but it does also feature online play for 2-4 players.

It's a fun family game, with no major systems to learn, so even the young ones can enjoy it. Our family of 3, including a 6 year old, has had a blast playing together- the only part that may be frustrating to a younger gamer would be a lack of a map; some levels, with twists and turns, may present a challenge until they're learned.

Outside of that, the 3 of us enjoy sitting down to play Jumanji together!

Aim to be the last squad standing in a fast-paced free-for-all on player-versus-player-versus-zombies mode in World War Z.

does this pro-order coming with the Lobo Weapon Pack???

Yes, but keep in mind the following:
The Lobo pack is nice, but if you don't get it (I had no code with the game, it was just in my inventory,) it's no big deal. Yes, the multi-tool is different, but does the same damage as the machete (and honestly, the machete is cooler, IMHO).
Yes, you get 3 gold varient weapons that do more damage than their base counterparts... but, this is where it gets tricky. Those gold varients are NOT as powerful as the highest level weapons. And THIS is where it's important: those Lobos did not earn XP while using them. So, if you want to eventually unlock the most powerful AK-47 (well, their version of it,) you won't be earning any XP towards it while using the Lobo AK. AND, ATOP THAT, the Lobos are not silenced. While the basic rifle versions eventually earn that as you level, the starting varient pistol begins silenced, while the Lobo doesn't. Most maps, the opening section is almost always set up in a way where silenced weapons are a bonus to have.
So, if you don't get the Lobo pack, you can, (I believe) purchase it separately via PSN, but honestly, they hamstring progress towards the best versions to own.
