Kurt Sutter's much-anticipated spin-off/follow-up to InchSons of AnarchyInch for FX puts it's focus on SAMCRO's bitterest rivals, the border-riding, cartel muscle-providing Mayans motorcycle club. While prospect ex-con Ezekiel InchEZInch Reyes (J.D. Pardo) is vouched for by his full patch brother Angel (Clayton Cardenas), the gang and their cartel allies are leery of his true agenda. Sarah Bolger, Danny Pino, Michael Irby, Edward James Olmos also star.

More from the Sons of Anarchy universe...
on September 24, 2019

Mayans M.C. is a continuation of the "Sons of Anarchy" universe, this time from the perspective of an outlaw Latino biker club, the Mayans, operating near the border with Mexico. There are a few obvious references to the border wall. But, unlike Sons of Anarchy, the writing isn't that crisp and a lot (most?) of the actor choices aren't very compelling. And the theme song is really awful, written by a clueless old white guy about stuff he has no idea about.

True Detective returns
on September 18, 2019

After a terrible second season, True Detective returns in its third season to the form that won it such acclaim in season one. Mahershala Ali plays one detective in three different decades--consumed by a case involving dead/missing kids--but the timeline is disjointed for storytelling purposes and to illustrate the senility that eventually overtakes him in the modern era of the story.

Based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, LEGION is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he is the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen. From childhood, David shuffled from one psychiatric institution to the next until, in his early 30s, he met and fell in love with a beautiful and troubled fellow patient named Syd Barrett (Rachel

As Endings Go, This is One...

Legion is a series that FX never knew what to do with. Executive Producer Noah Hawley's other show for FX, Fargo, is a lot easier to quantify.
Legion is a comic book show, but not really. It rarely embraces the Marvel Universe source material, despite having Professor X (from the X-Men) appear in season 3 of Legion--as the main character's father--in a time-travel storyline.
Legion is a brilliant show with great actors and amazing writing...and yet...time travel and "fixing the timeline" kinds of tales always seem to fall short for me.

The best days of The Blacklist have passed
on September 9, 2019

In season 6 of The Blacklist, we finally (maybe) learn who the man calling himself Raymond Reddington is and what his connection is to main character Elizabeth Keene. But that information is buried in a long slog of a season with Reddington trying to escape prison and the death penalty--after Elizabeth put him in prison. Though Reddington doesn't know that. Elizabeth wanted revenge because Reddington pretended to be her father. My guess is that the final season (season seven) will be about Elizabeth's long-lost KGB spy mother and how she fits into the story.

Based on the popular graphic novel series, this hit AMC series focuses on a small group of survivors living in the wake of an unknown catastrophe that has revived the dead as Inchwalkers,Inch shambling, flesh-eating zombies. As the ragtag band, led by Southern lawman Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), makes their way across a walker-infested America, they soon discover that the dead may be the least of their problems. Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira co-star.

Adios, Rick Grimes
on September 9, 2019
Posted by: zerothevillain

I liked the first five episodes of season 9 of the Walking Dead--culminating in the exit of main character Rick Grimes--but the rest of the season slid slowly into sad irrelevance. Why? None of the other actors can be a series lead (except maybe Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan--who is always stellar).
New show-runner Angela Kang is ruining The Walking Dead. The new "females first" agenda on The Walking Dead stretches to include new main villain Alpha and her Whisperers (who masquerade as zombies to survive).
The first five episodes of season nine I would give four stars, the rest of the episodes get (far) less stars.

Flash season five is about family
on September 7, 2019
Posted by: zerothevillain
Verified Purchase:Yes
In season five, the Flash gets to meet and fight crime alongside his future daughter--who never got to meet him. Why? He disappeared in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths." That event is set for this upcoming season of all the Arrowverse shows. Flash's daughter, known as XS (for "excess" and XS meaning "extra small"), is a flawed and angry girl. Things happened in her past and Team Flash's future that left her angry and bitter. I have enjoyed the work of this actress (Jessica Parker Kennedy) since the Starz pirate show Black Sails. The main "bad guy" is (yet again) the Reverse Flash, Eobard Thawn. Though his time as the mentor of XS (in the future) has changed him somewhat. If you're a fan of the Flash, pick up this show!

Should have left well enough alone

Francis Ford Coppola is desperate for your approval. We now have three different versions of Apocalypse Now--when we only needed one. Both the "Redux" and "Final Cut" versions are way too long and preachy and dilute the message of Coppola's original masterpiece. I think the main reason he created thid "Final Cut" version is because his "Redux" version had a long scene that would anger the #metoo people. And he couldn't face that "tarnishing his legacy." Enjoy the original 1979 cut of Apocalypse Now on 4K and enjoy the many supplemental materials--including Hearts of Darkness (one of the best documentary films ever made). My review would have been two stars (or fewer) for the longer versions of this film that Coppola keeps making.

Avengers: Endgame is amazing!

While I liked Avengers: Infinity War better than Avengers: Endgame, it was a fitting (and often thrilling) end to a decade-plus-long plan of Marvel filmmaking. I don't think they will achieve this peak of drama and action again. You should own it!

Back to the 1990s with Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel was a far better movie than I thought it would be. A great supporting cast helped Marvel-newcomer (and academy award winner) Brie Larson take on the pivotal role of one of the most powerful women in the (Marvel) universe.

Venture Brothers season seven rocks!
on June 14, 2019

If you're a fan of The Venture Bros. Adult Swim animated show, you know how good it is. If you're not familiar with the show, The Venture Bros. began as a satire of the old Saturday morning types of cartoons. As the series matured, it created a whole universe of heroes and villains and super-scientists. Season seven covers a lot of ground. The Monarch wants to be a level 10 supervillain. The Venture family is trying to maintain control of Venture Industries with scientific breakthroughs. Hank and Dean both fall for the same girl--the daughter of a supervillain. Dean goes to college. Hank works delivering pizzas. You get the idea. Go check it out.

Is this a TV program or a Netflix, or what? I am interested in seeing this series. Please let me know where to find this showing.

The Titans TV show is on the Warner Brothers DC Universe streaming service.
