Great sound at a low price

I bought this receiver after my other Sony receiver bit the dust after 17 years of service. I was expecting at least equal sound, but I got a big surprise! The sound quality was much better than my previous unit. I bought it on sale during Xmas and it was only $20 more than the 5.2 channel receiver. Plus it came a few more features!

When the film first came out in 1983 Jean Shepherd's Xmas film was not very successful. But after going to video and holiday broadcasts it became a classic.

A couple of WW2 veterans go on to become a hot singing and entertainment act. Along the way they team up with a sister act(Clooney and Ellen) to a lodge in Vermont in a Christmas show.
There are some memorable moments in the film accompanied by Irving Berlin's wonderful music, and some truly funny gag scenes that you'll enjoy!

I first saw this TV movie on television way back in 1984. There have been so many versions of the Charles Dickens classic over the years, but this one stands out. George C. Scott does a great job of playing Scrooge, and even has a decent English accent.
The best thing about this film is that while it points out that inequality existed then, it still does. A change of heart makes all the difference in the world!

This is one of Frank Capra's best films! This is also the first film that Jimmy Stewart was in after his service in the Army Air Corps during WW2.
There story of a man( George Bailey) who has a few setbacks in his life while he sees the other people in his life have what seems like better fortune. He comes to the point where he believes that he would be better off dead. In an attempt to commit suicide he meets his guardian angel Clarence( Henry Travers) who gives George the opportunity to see what life would have been like if he hadn't been born at all. George finds out that his life was much better than he thought. The people whose lives he touched had much better lives with him than without him. His own brother who became a pilot in WW2 saved the lives of many others, and would not have were it not for George saving him from drowning as a child.
The idea that we touch so many other lives is a strong positive message for us all. The film is supported by a strong cast including Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Henry travers, Beulah Bondi, Ward Bond, Gloria Graham.
It's worth while to watch this film even when it's not the holidays.A Must See!
