Well, maybe not the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate, but it was still a good time. You get the Batman rogues gallery mixed with TMNT and mutations. It's a fun 'What If?' scenario. Good action and some humor mixed in at times to make it all the more enjoyable. A slightly above average DCAU film that is worth a watch. Oh, and the slipcover on this is amazing. If you're going to own this one, get it with the slipcover.

Rambo is back!

While not my favorite Rambo film, that will always be the first (i.e., First Blood), this is a worthy entry in the franchise. Although, it is very dark and brutal. Yes, there is CGI blood. But, there are some practical effects and explosions, too. I won't go into the film. My main focus here is to comment on the quality of the 4K release. The 4K HDR presentation here is quite nice. I watched the 1080p Blu-ray not long ago and I felt like there was more immersion in the 4K presentation, so I enjoyed the film more--I actually sold my 1080p Blu-ray thinking I would never watch this film again. But I could see myself re-watching this one on occasion. Sure. It is gritty. But it does have a commendable story. It does fit the character and I like that Rambo fights with a team...sort of. Anyway, the sound here is good. It filled the room nicely. I don't recall any overhead effects that stood out, but then, I don't know why it would need any. Most of the action is ground-level. At the price, this is a good addition to your collection if you are a fan of the franchise.

A Classic Presentation

Apocalypse Now looks amazing in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR. Truly, you have never seen the film like this. The Dolby Atmos surround ensures you have never heard the film like this. It is quite an experience. When the napalm drops, you feel it.
This package is quite robust. Six discs, including two 4K UHD discs. One with The Final Cut with director introduction. The other, with the theatrical and Redux cuts. Then there are the Blu-ray discs with the three cuts of the film and the extras, including the Heart of Darkness making-of documentary.
While this is not a film I would return to often, I do like having it in the collection and this is an amazing presentation. And at the current price of around $20, it is an incredible deal.

Great 4K picture

I had seen this film originally on Blu-ray and enjoyed it. That was several years ago. So, when there was a sale on the 4K UHD Blu-ray, I jumped at the chance to pick it up and re-watch it. While the 4K presentation is very good here, with great depth and plenty of detail in the picture, it does lack Dolby Atmos or a DTS-X immersive sound track. Still, the 5.1 does a decent job. If you are a fan of the film, it is worth checking out or owrning on 4K.

Another Great Entry to the Franchise

I am a fan of the Dragons franchise. While this film wasn't quite as good as the first two, in my opinion, it was a fun time. Honestly, I was hoping the film would allow us to explore the Hidden World more rather than delve into a human conflict over the dragons.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray looks and sounds spectacular, just like the other films in the series. Some animation doesn't improve that much in 4K HDR over the standard Blu-ray, but that is not the case here.
If you are a fan of the franchise, this one is definitely worth adding to your collection.

There was a lot of hype around this film. It won the best animated feature film Oscar in 2019. So, I had high expectations going into this one. I am a comic book fan. I am a fan of the other Spider-Man films, and I heard glowing reviews of this one. So, I was rather shocked that I was not blown away by Into the Spider-Verse. It is a technical achievement, for sure. I like the animation style and praise the film on technical merits. But, it felt like any other Spider-Man story from comics or films. It didn't truly surprise me. The scenes with Miles learning from Peter were the highlights for me. That is when I felt the most engaged. I will definitely watch it again. I do recommend the film, as most people do seem to enjoy it. It just didn't click with me upon first viewing. And I will give it another shot.

Immersive Audio...at a Price

I am into home theater. I listen to home theater-related podcasts and browse the related internet forums. I read and watch reviews related to the hobby. I don't really have a home theater, per se. I simply turned a spared bedroom into my man cave. That said, I wanted a good sound system to pair with my LG B7 OLED, which brings a great 4K HDR experience to the home. Previously, I had a Vizio 5.1 sound bar. It did a good job, but the rear speakers rarely seemed to come alive. I often wondered if my system was set up correctly.
I had been looking at Atmos systems for a while, but they were all expensive. The Samsung HW-N950 falls into that category, as well. Even with the sale price knocking a couple hundred bucks off of it, and having a coupon, it was over a grand. My Vizio was a fourth of what I paid for the Samsung. The Samsung is a larger unit, for sure. From the sound bar itself, which is over 48" long, to the subwoofer and the surrounds, every speaker is larger than my Vizio. I also like the design of the Samsung, although, the Vizio was nice, too. So, it really came down to performance.
The Samsung performs well. Quite well. The immersive audio experience trumps 5.1. Hands down! While I don't often hear sounds above me, the audio is immersive in that it fills the room and there is some height to it. The audio just blends together well. My room is something like 11'x13' with 8' ceilings. It is a joy to watch films at home with this sound bar.
Professional reviews sold me on this sound bar, to be honest. The well-known sites had praised it, with one reviewer exclaiming he was selling his receiver and separates to get the Samsung for its high quality and simplicity in set up and use. Some may say that is extreme, and it really depends on your needs. Would I put this into a dedicated home theater? Probably not. But then, I don't have one and probably never will either. So, this works for me. And I don't need to spend hours running cables and futzing with ceiling speakers and the whole bit.
So, I would recommend the sound bar. As of this writing, it is the only 7.1.4 Atmos sound bar out there. It is in a class all its own. And if you were to buy separates and a receiver, you'd be out a good chunk of change. Heck, even a receiver can be $300-$500 on the low end. You could spend on a receiver, or a sub, or a single speaker more than the cost of the Samsung. So, when you look at it that way, the price isn't so bad. That is how I looked at it. I figured I was going to spend more money to buy everything I would need to replicate this with separates, and I would need to run wires all over the room and argue with the spouse over aesthetics and getting speakers on the ceiling. So, this was a great option for me, and the spouse even approved.

Perfect for us!

We moved into a new home and my wife wanted to place a large China hutch in front of the thermostat. So, we started looking at smart thermostats. Our needs were pretty simple: we needed to be able to adjust the thermostat from our phones.
We researched options, and we were familiar with Nest, but had not had any experience with it. I'm in tech, so I was aware of Ecobee and others, as well. In the end, we settled on Nest because it was reasonably priced and offered the options we wanted. We also use Amazon's Echo, and it integrates with it. I like the geo-fencing feature that lowers the temperature when we are away. The app is user-friendly.
I would recommend spending a little more to get the regular Nest though. The E is fine for us since it is hidden, but the display is a lot nicer on the regular Nest. Both function the same, but if I had to look at it regularly, I'd prefer the normal Nest. Also, the regular Nest is compatible with more HVAC systems. So, check your system and the Nest site, which will inform you if your system is compatible with the Nest E before purchasing. Install is simple. I was able to do this myself using the included instructions and a YouTube video.

I keep returning to Prometheus, and each time I see its flaws, but I still find a lot to enjoy about it. First, it looks fantastic. The settings and the horror moments make it one of the better Alien sequels. The HDR presentation here is great. And the Blu-ray looked very good. But now, you get the deep blacks and brighter details that really bring the film to life. There are plenty of scenes where the image just pops. Detail is there, as well. It looks and sounds great. So, if you are a fan of the film or the Alien franchise, definitely consider giving this one a watch on 4K.

Absolutely worth the upgrade to 4K. I have the previous Blu-ray from Scream Factory and I wasn't sure a 4K upgrade would benefit this film much. Boy, was I wrong. The picture is very pleasing. Film grain is intact but not heavy. The reds and lights of the opening scene pop and create a picture with more depth. Details can be seen in faces, clothing, and the effects. Oh, the effects. Though little of the werewolves is shown, what we get looks amazing and the transformation scene has never been more grotesque. The previous Blu-ray is included and it has loads of very interesting special features that I also thoroughly enjoyed after watching the film. The Howling is a classic. Buy it!

I got the slipcover, but I was in the store. Currently, all issued should have the slip. The wrapping is over the slipcover. At some point they might stop issuing slipcovers, but they are on the early runs out there now. So, even ordering online you should receive one.

I have a Samsung 3D capable th, that I have played 3d bluray discs on. My samsung BD payer doesn't function anymore. Will this play 3d discs faithfully?
