One of the Best "Arthur Legend" Films Ever

I am so glad that Excalibur made it to Blu Ray. Now, I just hope that someday it will receive a complete remastering. While this is the best presentation of the film yet, the magnitude of this movie warrants even better treatment. Not that this version is bad, it was in fact at times stunning. Still, this is a great film and it should receive equally great remastering. None the less, this is an amazing movie for anyone that enjoys King Arthur stories.

One of Burt's Best

Lot's of action, Rachel Ward and a great musical score...What's not to like? Well, the video video transfer to Blu Ray is way better than the VHS version, but not great, especially in the darker scenes. This is a stylish cop flick and by happenstance, I was in Atlanta when parts of it were filmed. It's Burt Reynolds at his best!

I have greatly enjoyed Tombstone ever since I first saw it. In fact, I can't even think of a better Western genre movie, and that is saying a lot. Over the years, I have purchased it on VHS, LaserDisc, DVD and now Blu Ray. The improvements to the visual and audio components make this the best it has ever looked and sounded, by far. When played and up-scaled through my UHD Blu Ray player on my 75 inch Samsung 4K TV, it is absolutely stunning.

Nice Improvements

I have Amazon Fire, the 4K version. The original remote was OK, but the newly offered one is even better. It has a volume control with mute that is quite handy as I no longer need to juggle with multiple remotes to control that function. The setup was easy as the system guided each step along the way. It even works with my 8 year old 5.1 Visio Soundbar as well as my newer Samsung UHD TV. Nice.

It is smart enough to order only the cartridge color that's need at the time, and that is sent to me free of shipping charges. The ink is first quality from Epson and is offered at a fair price. So far, this has worked flawlessly and I am happy that I will never run out of ink again. As Forrest Gump said, "One less thing..."

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. It is extremely intense and violent at times so be aware of that. It is also extremely engaging with outstanding acting at every turn. The filming style is so powerful that in 4K it is almost overwhelming at times, as is the soundtrack. But to me, it all fits with the theme of the movie. Luc Besson masterfully delivers a true gem.

Does this unit up-convert non ATMOS signals so it can utilize all the speakers and simulate ATMOS??
Yes, the Vizio Atmos units offer a simulated Atmos function that is actually quite good, excellent in fact. You can control that with the Height Speaker adjustment on the remote or from the App. You can choose those speakers to be either On, Off or Virtual. You would use the On mode when Dolby Atmos is available from the source. The Off mode cuts off the Height speakers completely, which I rarely use, but a "nice to have" function I suppose. The Virtual mode does a great job of emulating the effects offered with Atmos. In fact, depending on the source, Virtual can actually rival true Atmos. I use Virtual all the time and it is particularly effective when the source is in a 5.1 format. Even TV shows sound great with Virtual, but put in an HD BluRay like Saving Private Ryan and you will be ducking from the bullets flying overhead!
