There is so much I love about this game. Level design, puzzles, the anticipation of it all, lack of a traditional soundtrack. The "soundtrack" primarily consists of the ambient noises of the world around you. There is some traditional music but when it's injected in the game it serves as a proximity sensor to certain beings around you (oh and there's a good piece in the final credit scroll). As you go on there is some shocking imagery and the DLC is a must play.
Enjoy captivating gaming in Shenmue III. Two combat modes make it fun, with one designed for less experienced players and another that lets you decide how to engage the enemy. Interact with locals, play arcade games and even take on jobs to add an extra dynamic to your gameplay. Shenmue III provides a huge world for an amazing gaming experience.

This literally picks up where the screen fades to black in #2. Like if you finished Shenmue II on one system then changed inputs to a PS4 with Shenmue III ready to go, you would literally just be walking from the Dreamcast version of the cave to a more polished, shinier version. And that's the whole game. It's the same game as 18 -19 years ago just with a graphical boost from modern consoles. I mean, it's not a bad thing - it's a relaxing game. Ryu still walks stiff as a board. He still gets hyper-fixated on any new tidbit of info and abandons the last line of questioning. "Have you seen any thugs?" is the new "Do you know where I can find sailors?" It's the same VA for Ryu, sounding much the same as he did nearly 2 decades ago, so we're still treated to "Excuse me... I see.... Really?"
There's capsules to buy, forklifts to drive, Lucky Hit is back as well as a whole new host of g̶a̶m̶b̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ venture games including frog and turtle racing. They are essentially the same but as expected, the frog races go much faster. You can also pick herbs, chop wood and fish to earn money. There's a Seek & Find mini-game in the second half of the story that I really enjoyed.
The game is gorgeous, no doubt about that. It takes place in two areas which are both quite large. The first area has fast travel and the second area which is much bigger, does not for some reason. There are also some odd "no running" zones in the second area which serve no purpose I could see and are just plain annoying.
Shenhua and Ryu are able to have optional conversations in the evenings and if you have any interest learning more about the characters, I encourage you to keep Ryu interacting with her in the village area. Once you change areas, the structure of the conversations changes and they aren't as long.
About the time you're wondering where the familiar QTEs of previous installments are, they make a reappearance. And they pop up FAST. Like fast enough to the point I failed Every. Single. One. Half a second longer on the QTE and I wouldn't have had a problem as I always hit the button as the timer was up. It's basically a memory game in Shenmue III - fail and note the button, repeat for all new buttons in the sequence. Training kung-fu is MUCH easier this time around.

The VR-compatible game puts players in the shoes of an amnesiac patient, and every decision made controls the game's outcome. Combining puzzle solving with a rich backstory, The Inpatient provides an exciting gaming experience for fans of role-playing games.

It was a VERY short prequel that explains the events that unfolded decades before Until Dawn and can be finished in less than 3 hours. It's essentially a walking simulator with a few jump scares mixed in. While I love the VR experience this triggered my motion sickness right away. I ended up having to wear my antiemetic band for the duration. This is a relatively inexpensive game but it's certainly a game you can read a synopsis for unless you really want to see how developers aged the scenery between the two games.

Like I was legit scared playing this. I mean it IS a scary game but I probably made it worse using the headphone jack on the controller. My husband falls asleep on the couch usually while I'm playing and I wanted to hear the dialogue but the typical horror story loud noises would wake him up. So I grabbed a pair headphones and plugged them in. Let me say that was the best-worst decision I made. Not only did I hear the dialogue better but the ambient sounds "moving" around me really intensified the game. And let me say, there's some really freaky stuff whispered in the background.
There is definitely some replay to this game. Dialogue choices, etc. will make some changes throughout. There are also collectibles throughout the game that really help flush out the story that you're not given on screen. I highly recommend finding as many of those as you can.

They are simple, short, satisfying games. The puzzles in both are a challenge without being frustrating. Limbo has some timing puzzles mixed in but nothing impossible. Inside had a more puzzle-platform aspect.
It's going to be what you take away from it but to me, the narrative of Inside seems to be more social and Limbo was more personal.

I mean it's good but IMO the weakest of the three games. The visuals are amazing for this kind of game; versus something intentionally realistic like Skyrim. The gyro controls from the 3DS are back and to be honest, are a bit aggravating during boss fights, controls feel stiff and slow and I'm having SMB2 flashbacks on getting Luigi to move. The floors of the hotel are unique and give the game the familiar Mario feel of "worlds."
Unfortunately, upgrades as we knew it to the Poltergust are gone. There is exactly one upgrade made to it late in the game and that is only used once in story mode (unsure if it's used while looking for Boos or gems). Boss difficultly seems all over. I had more trouble with the 4th floor boss than the one on the 13th floor.
And no "Mario? Maaario? MMMAAARRRIOOOO!" which probably saddens me the most.

Now, I've read a couple reviews that said "If you like Zelda, you'll love Rime!" And that's not entirely correct. It's more like, "if you like Ico you'll probably really enjoy Rime too!" It also seems people complain about it being slow paced but I for one enjoyed the puzzle solving without a monster tailing me.
It's visually a beautiful game, the soundtrack is good but in the evening it easily can put me to sleep. Like I mentioned before, you can really take your time exploring the island and find the collectibles, do some puzzles and move on without feeling rushed. A very slight learning curve as you start the game as there is no explanation of how to manipulate objects or what the buttons do (until the world prompts you with the correct one). Movement is fluid, jumping and climbing is not frustrating and swimming is really easy. In the off chance you perish in the game, death resets are quick and painless, often resetting you to a spot feet from your misplaced jump.
There is some lag still present after some patches, usually in spots where the camera is panned far out or during gameplay immediately after a cutscene.

My 7 year old is a big Lego fan and loves all the games, so naturally we went to see TLM2 and bought him the game. Unfortunately it's not the standard format we've grown to know and love from the Lego videogames.
First, you can't replay a story mission unless you restart the game. All the stuff you'd normally find in a level (characters, minikit or equivalent, etc.) are all in the world levels. The "replay" value comes from trying to find all that stuff in the open world. Trying to unlock characters and accessories is random since you have to get them from Relics that you pick up. Sometimes progress is locked until you find enough purple bricks to move on.
I was only intermittently watching my son play and he ended up getting stuck after a level. What he didn't realize is that if the world you need to go to isn't on the space map, you have to select another galaxy by moving the D-Pad up and down on the universe map.
Honestly if you aren't a big fan of The Lego Movie 2, skip this games and play one of the other Lego games that TT has published in the past.

I had the DS version of TWEWY since release, but after starting it over several times through the years, I just was never comfortable with the controls. When it came out on Switch, I was elated that I finally might be able to play and experience a game that most people rave about (that and as a KH fan, I wanted to know and understand the characters featured in DDD.)
I played with a single detached controller (versus touchpad) and I found the combat REALLY easy now. Once you have a few pins leveled that you enjoy and work well with calling your partner, that's kind of it for combat. Storywise it was good, not great to me but good. TWEWY also came out over a decade ago so IMO it's a little dated.
