Another good Lego Installment

Another typical Lego game with a new skin (lots of characters brought from Lego Super Heroes as to be expected). The races, etc. to unlock characters and bricks are more forgiving than the previous installment. Easy enough for my 6 year old to beat by himself but there were a few parts he needed help.

I have a 6 year old who LOVES Flash and Green Lantern, so it's nice to see one of them getting their own movie. We have rewatched this one a few times and it's always a favorite.

We have the Harley Quinn/Batman cycle set and next to that one, Cat Woman's cycle is kind of boring but still nice to have a third. Nice set of minifigures come with it though.

Flash is one of my son's favorites and after watching the Lego movie he HAD to have some - this set came to the rescue because it had Flash and Reverse Flash. Also Cyborg which he loved. He doesn't like putting Lego helicopters together but we still had fun. He enjoys the car and Killer Frost enough.

My son LOVES DC villains and this was a quick decision to buy this plus it had a bunch of DC characters we didn't have yet. It was fun to help him put together, all the pieces were there. My 4 year old daughter took the Wonder Woman figure, my son was satisfied to have the rest.

Good but with the usual TT bugs

The game is great and my son loves it but of course, being a Lego game it seems to be plagued with the normal Traveller's Tales bugs that they will never fix. It's a Lego game and they've found their formula and it works. They make some tweaks to the menus and layout but it's basically always the same base game with a new skin. The bugs at best require a system reset and everything is back to normal and at worst in the middle of a level and I have an upset child.
Anyhow, my son absolutely LOVES DC Villains (more so than the heroes I'd venture to guess) and he isn't disappointed by the cast of characters they've included here. It was easy enough for a 6 year old to beat solo over a week and plenty of replay value to go back and get missing characters. I love that you can now sort by their special moves, alphabetical, etc. It's also pretty neat that they programmed the controller to glow purple instead of the usual blue.

My daughter LOVES coloring, stickers, drawing, etc. so when I saw this prior to her 4th birthday I thought she would enjoy it. It was a HUGE hit and it will regularly keep her occupied for an hour or so at a time coloring, cleaning and coloring again (with only minor help when asked for more help cleaning and drying). Even my 6 year old son who doesn't usually color or draw will join her periodically and seems to enjoy it. The markers are short and skinny, great for small hands. They are a bit small for adult hands. We had no problem with the tub, I usually fill it up a little over the bottom rather than what the instructions say and it seems to keep the sprayer working better. My only complaint is that the poodle is missing the eyes. I contacted Crayola and they were gracious enough to offer a $5 coupon to purchase a replacement pet but could not directly send me a replacement poodle. Unfortunately the poodle seems to only be offered in the playsets not in the 2-pack sets.
