Some good content, but not a lot

There's a small handful of shows that I've really liked on AppleTV, but not enough to continue the subscription after the free 3 months I got for buying a Roku Ultra. Despite having gigabit ethernet coming into that Roku Ultra (which probably only has a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection), AppleTV buffers more than any other service I have.

Love my Xbox Series X!

I am a long-time PC gamer who finally got fed up with dealing with conflicts between Windows updates, hardware and games and went the way of the Xbox. I started with the 360, upgraded to a One and then to a Series X. I love the ease of use of the Xbox in general and the performance of the Series X is so monumentally better than the One (or, of course, the 360) and the games look so good on my 4K TV. I've added a nice wheel & pedals setup on a frame for racing games (I wish more games supported wheels) and joystick/flight controller/flight pedals for Flight Simulator. I do wish I could get a mouse and keyboard that worked with FPS games as I've never learned how to play them well at all with the gamepad. I occaisionally watch Blu-rays (both HD and UHD) on it as well. I do wish the price of the external SSD would come down as much as SSDs for PCs have, but that's another thing altogether. Hard to believe you can get this much horsepower for the price of a midlevel video card for the PC!

However, I got it for my wife and her long phone conversations with her sisters, but she found it too much a bother to connect and set up that she ends up just wearing her arm out instead to hold the phone to her head. I got this to expand storage on my Xbox Series X and it technically works. I only put older and smaller games on it so the load times weren't all that bad compared to the internal SSD drive. However, I frequently got popup messages on the Xbox saying that it didn't recognize the drive. That go so tiresome during gameplay that eventually I unplugged it from the Xbox, formatted it for PC use and just use it to move larger files between my house and other locations.

When it works, it works quite well

I've had multiple Roku Sticks but decided to step up to the Roku Ultra to get an Ethernet connection instead of my slower WiFi. The box is very responsive and smooth and everything looks good on my LG 4K OLED HDR10/Dolby Vision TV. However, after 3 weeks of use, it started to suddenly drop the video and output for 3 to 5 seconds, then resume like nothing happened (the show I'd been watching continued to stream the whole time). I tried everything Roku suggested (checking for updates, unplugging it, factor reset, etc.) but now need to return it. After 2 weeks, Best Buy won't take it back and Roku wants me to pay for return shipping, despite being barely into its 1-year warranty. Such a disappointment. Maybe I should have stayed with Roku sticks that I could throw away and replace more cheaply.

I wish I didn't need this streamer but I got a free year's worth of Paramount+ with my recent LG OLED purchase and the Paramount+ app just will not work directly on the LG WebOS platform. So I was stuck with buying a streaming stick. Since I like my two other TCL TVs that have Roku, I figured I'd go with a Roku and this stick does Paramount+ (and a host of other services) in all resolutions up to 4K with HDR and does it all for a decent price.

I actually bought this as a gift for my nephew so that he could play his Xbox Series X at 4K and 120 fps through it and out to his OLED 4K HDR TV while getting support for the latest audio codecs. He reports that it was easy to set up, has a ton of music streaming services he's just beginning to explore, has all the bells and whistles he could ask for and is very happy with it. He might well give it a higher rating than me, but I'm a bit of a video and audio snob and am not as easily impressed by Denon.

I am with Verizon and looking for a new phone . Can I purchase the moto G power , for the his price 129.00 and have it activated with Verizon with my number ?
I know that Best Buy was selling this for two different prices; one with activation in the store (the lower price) and one unlocked for activation by whatever phone store the customer took it to. Since I was replacing and old phone on an existing contract, I wasn't going to be activating it in the store and ended up going for the higher priced option. That price was still better than what I would have paid at my phone store (Verizon). Your mileage may vary.

Can you manually updated the checking and investment accounts and not use the automatic updates?
You can manually enter pretty much anything you want into any of the accounts. When I write checks, for example, I enter them manually. When I later download the information for my checking account from the bank, Quicken automatically reconciles which of those sent checks have been cashed. That assumes that your description of the individual payment matches the banks description closely enough. Sometimes, they don't quite match and you end up having to delete your manually-entered record.

I had contractors from Best Buy install it because since I've retired, I've become rather lazy about doing chores like that. However, they installed it in a manner of minutes using the trim kit that had been from our previous Whirlpool microwave oven. I am unfamiliar with the "Whirlpool Gold Convection Microwave" in specific but suspect the trim kits might be similar.

Further inquiry to Bonnies question ( and subsequent answer) about cookie sheets. Are you recommending we not bake cookies in the convection feature of the oven?
You can certainly try baking cookies or anything else. However, given the design of the oven where all the heat is coming in from a vent on the left side rather than evenly distributed above and/or below as in a conventional oven, I suspect that you might find cookies on the left side of the sheet might be rather more well done than those on the right side.

will this work with 5ohm speakers ?
Possibly not. The manual describes how to set the speaker impedance setting to either 8-ohm or 6-ohm, no mention of other settings for 4-ohm, 5-ohm or other. You might want to write Yamaha directly to see if setting it to 6-ohm would be "close enough" for your 5-ohm speakers.

There's a little icon with 3 horizontal stripes (which I've heard called the "hamburger" icon) to the left of the painted controls. Press that and an expanded backlit menu comes up. Using this, you can set the cooking time, press a menu option, then select the cooking power level (from 10% to 90% with the default being 100%) and then press the Start icon. You also have to use this "hamburger" icon to bring up the menu options to use the oven in convection oven mode instead of the default microwave oven mode (the two modes are separate and can't be used at the same time).

Does this unit allow you to play different music in each zone? For example: can I watch a movie in the main zone and play music via an airplay 2 device (iPhone).
Page 44 of the manual talks about sliding the Zone A/Zone B switch to Zone B, then selecting an input. Keep in mind that you cannot drive both a 5.1 channel system in Zone A in combination with a 2.0 channel system in Zone B. Using Zone B means sacrificing the surround channels from Zone A. This isn't spelled out explicitly in the manual; you have to glean it from zooming in on the diagram of the rear of the receiver on page 14.

Can this receiver work with component audio and video cable? I have an older projection television as well as an older dvd player.
This A/V receiver does NOT have component (YPbPr) video inputs. Video can only be input via higher-quality HDMI input or lower-quality composite video input. Most all newer video devices (cable boxes, satellite boxes, Blu-ray players, UHD players, media players, etc.) use only HDMI these days. Some really old devices (Wii game consoles, VCRs, etc.) use composite video and some older DVD players use composite video.
