I'm doing a bit of computer work from and was told needed a headset with a microphone. I bought one and it worked for all of about 2 days and I took it back. Since I already own some very good headphones, I figured I would try just a microphone. Best Buy didn't have any of the old school analog ones so I tired this USB mike for a low price. It works and the sound quality seems OK to the folks I work with but when I test it, it seems like I have to nearly swallow the microphone to get what I would think of as a normal recording level. Still, as long as they aren't complaining...

I used to burn CDs & DVDs like a madman and always used Memorex. Now I only occasionally burn them and when I do, I can't find Memorex any more So I use the only name brand ones I can find at Best Buy, which is Verbatim. Having not used them for years like the Memorex, I can't vouch that they will last for years like the Memorex, so I can't quite give them 5 stars. But they seem to work for now. No coasters yet!

I'm having issues with HDR 4K video from my media player and the vendor strongly believed it was because I wasn't using a good enough cable. They recommended this cable as being certified by them so I bought it. It didn't make any difference at all over the Monoprice cable at a quarter of the price. Don't get me wrong, the cable works fine. It's just that the issue really is between the media player and my specific TV model. I would have returned it but it was such a hassle installing it into my system that I got lazy and kept it. I'm only dinging 2 stars it for the price, otherwise it's a good cable.

I had difficulties getting these to work via Bluetooth but they worked fine via USB. At least, they worked for about 4 days, at which point they stopped doing anything. I tried multiple cables and USB ports to no avail. I took them back for a refund.

What kills me is that I'd like to buy a bare hard drive of this size to stick inside a computer and you can't find one for close to this price. How can an external hard drive with a case, a power supply, a USB 3.0 cable and SATA-to-USB circuitry cost so much less than a bare hard drive?

Not perfect but a great value

Though I've seen the Blu-ray of Serenity before, I did not own it. When I saw the UHD of it for $15 at BB and I had a $5 reward burning a hole in my pocket, it was a no-brainer. If you're a fan, you already know the film. This is just the best-looking, best-sounding version of the film you can buy. Is it light-years ahead of the BR in terms of sight or sound? No, it's only incrementally better but that's because the BR was pretty good to begin with. I can't give it a full 5 stars only because there are UHDs out there that look and sound more incredible than this. Plus I hate it when (you know who) dies and when (you know who) also dies. And that there's no sequel planned. But I'm still not over the cancellation of the series and it's been 17 years, so maybe that's MY problem.

Plays UHD discs that choked my other player

I had bought an LG UBK90 player but found it paused for several seconds at one point in a number of discs and locked up completely on one. I returned it, bought the Sony UBP-X700 and tried it with those same discs. They all played flawlessly. I haven't tried the player with other disc types (Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, CD, SACD, etc.) to see how they do and I haven't really tried any streaming with it as I have other devices for those purposes. I just wanted a reliable UHD player that handled HDR10 and Dolby Vision and this does that for a reasonable price.

I know that Best Buy was selling this for two different prices; one with activation in the store (the lower price) and one unlocked for activation by whatever phone store the customer took it to. Since I was replacing and old phone on an existing contract, I wasn't going to be activating it in the store and ended up going for the higher priced option. That price was still better than what I would have paid at my phone store (Verizon). Your mileage may vary.

Can you manually updated the checking and investment accounts and not use the automatic updates?
You can manually enter pretty much anything you want into any of the accounts. When I write checks, for example, I enter them manually. When I later download the information for my checking account from the bank, Quicken automatically reconciles which of those sent checks have been cashed. That assumes that your description of the individual payment matches the banks description closely enough. Sometimes, they don't quite match and you end up having to delete your manually-entered record.

I had contractors from Best Buy install it because since I've retired, I've become rather lazy about doing chores like that. However, they installed it in a manner of minutes using the trim kit that had been from our previous Whirlpool microwave oven. I am unfamiliar with the "Whirlpool Gold Convection Microwave" in specific but suspect the trim kits might be similar.

Further inquiry to Bonnies question ( and subsequent answer) about cookie sheets. Are you recommending we not bake cookies in the convection feature of the oven?
You can certainly try baking cookies or anything else. However, given the design of the oven where all the heat is coming in from a vent on the left side rather than evenly distributed above and/or below as in a conventional oven, I suspect that you might find cookies on the left side of the sheet might be rather more well done than those on the right side.

will this work with 5ohm speakers ?
Possibly not. The manual describes how to set the speaker impedance setting to either 8-ohm or 6-ohm, no mention of other settings for 4-ohm, 5-ohm or other. You might want to write Yamaha directly to see if setting it to 6-ohm would be "close enough" for your 5-ohm speakers.

There's a little icon with 3 horizontal stripes (which I've heard called the "hamburger" icon) to the left of the painted controls. Press that and an expanded backlit menu comes up. Using this, you can set the cooking time, press a menu option, then select the cooking power level (from 10% to 90% with the default being 100%) and then press the Start icon. You also have to use this "hamburger" icon to bring up the menu options to use the oven in convection oven mode instead of the default microwave oven mode (the two modes are separate and can't be used at the same time).

Does this unit allow you to play different music in each zone? For example: can I watch a movie in the main zone and play music via an airplay 2 device (iPhone).
Page 44 of the manual talks about sliding the Zone A/Zone B switch to Zone B, then selecting an input. Keep in mind that you cannot drive both a 5.1 channel system in Zone A in combination with a 2.0 channel system in Zone B. Using Zone B means sacrificing the surround channels from Zone A. This isn't spelled out explicitly in the manual; you have to glean it from zooming in on the diagram of the rear of the receiver on page 14.

Can this receiver work with component audio and video cable? I have an older projection television as well as an older dvd player.
This A/V receiver does NOT have component (YPbPr) video inputs. Video can only be input via higher-quality HDMI input or lower-quality composite video input. Most all newer video devices (cable boxes, satellite boxes, Blu-ray players, UHD players, media players, etc.) use only HDMI these days. Some really old devices (Wii game consoles, VCRs, etc.) use composite video and some older DVD players use composite video.
