Battery Backup & Surge Protector for Electronics and Computers

Will this be sufficient for for a single needle embroidery machine?

Thank you for your interest in our products. The BN450MNW would support 255 watts of power connected to it. The average sewing machine would draw around 100 watts of power which would be fine with the BN450MNW. I would just check on the technical specs of the machine to make sure it isn't over 255 watts.

The Back-UPS battery backup offers guaranteed power and surge protection for wireless networks, computers, gaming consoles and other electronics in your home or business. Models supply battery backup during outages and unsafe voltage fluctuations, as well as provide protection from damaging surges and spikes. They're available in 'tower' or 'floor' styles, and together with a variety of standard features, they are the perfect choice to protect your data and keep you connected.

Will this maintain power to a quilting machine? I have a Q’Nique Elite 21x that I was advised to use a USP with to avoid power interruptions

Thank you for your interest in our products. The BVN650M1 would support 360 watts of power connected to it so the quilting machine may overload it. I would just confirm that the power draw of the machine is 450 watts like their website is saying. If it does you may need to go up to something like our BVN900M1 which supports 480 watts of power connected to it.

 APC - Back-UPS 900VA 9-Outlet Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector - Black
APC - Back-UPS 900VA 9-Outlet Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector - Black
Avoid data loss during unexpected power outages with this APC battery backup. Plug in up to seven devices and let the two surge protectors keep your critical electronics protected. This APC battery backup delivers a battery run time of up to 5.9 hours, which provides plenty of time to save and back up your work.

I was going to buy just a surge protector power strip for a new 50" TV I bought and our cable box. I saw this and am considering either a 900VA or 650VA Battery backup system. Will either of these work with a TV and standard cable TV box?

Thank you for your interest in our products. Both units would likely work for your setup. You would just want to make sure you under the supported wattage. On the 900VA unit you would want to stay under 480 watts of equipment connected to it. On the 650VA unit you would want to stay under 360 watts. If you do go with the smaller unit I would just make sure the power draw is under 360 watts on the TV and cable box.

 APC - Back-UPS 450VA 6-Outlet Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector - Black
APC - Back-UPS 450VA 6-Outlet Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector - Black
Keep your office equipment safe with this APC battery backup. It has six outlets with surge protection, four of which also have backup protection to keep your important electronics powered short-term during an outage. Audio and light alarms on this APC battery backup let you know if something is wrong.

What is the joule specification? According to the box, a 10 watt device will run 2.3 hours, or equivalently, 20.3 watt*hours. As 1 watt*hour is 1600 joules, it isn't clear what the joule specification means, as it is substantially lower than calculated?

Thank you for inquiry. The joule rating is the surge protection rating on the unit. This unit would have a 180-joule rating. The 2.3 hours the unit references on the box is referring to the runtime that the unit would provide if the UPS were to go to battery. It would not affect the joule rating of the UPS.

Will this work for a programmed medicine dispenser? How long would the battery last? What happens with the power comes back on?

Thank you for inquiry. This UPS should work with the medicine dispenser. I would just confirm that the medicine dispenser doesn't draw over 200 watts of power so the UPS doesn't become overloaded. The runtime would depend on how much the power the device draws. At full load (200 watts) the UPS will provide 1 minute of runtime. At half load (100 watts) it will provide 6 minutes of runtime. One the power goes back on the UPS will begin to charge the battery back up to full charge. If the UPS were to completely drain during the power outage, once power is restored the UPS will begin to charge the batteries. Once the battery gets to around 20% the UPS will power back on.
