Can you remove the protective lens cover from the housing? Say I want just the cover to protect go pro But the footage has a glare from the lens cover I already removed from cam! Can I remove from housing too? Thank You!

Yes, you could do that. However, if you are removing the protectors from the camera and from the housing, we will want to be careful about allowing any damage to the exposed lens.

you don't need the clear protective housing case with this model to go in the ocean underwater? You can use as is and its completely waterproof?

Best Answer

The HERO8 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, you will want to use the separate protective housing with the camera.

Why am i hearing audio distortion and humming noise in my videos coming in and out of the recording, and sometimes constantly, that sounds like its coming from the camera processor or something? Please help me figure out this problem.

Typically, that could happen if you're recording and the camera is in an enclosed space or in a housing that is amplifying any sounds back into the mics, but the GoPro should be near silent while recording. Yes, you can see a preview of what the camera sees on your phone when the camera is connected to the GoPro app. The preview is not visible while actually recording, but you can use it for setups and for playback on recorded videos and photos.

The Protective Housing will not float the camera on its own. If you are using the GoPro in open water, it is always recommended to use it with some type of flotation tool like the Handler mount.
