The Super Suit will not work with the HERO4. You'll want to find the protective housing or the dive housing created for the HERO4 specifically.

Does this work with the hero 8 black?

The Super Suit does not work with the HERO8 Black since that particular model has a new size and shape. For the HERO8 Black, you'll want to look for the Protective Housing for the HERO8 Black.

The MAX is waterproof to 16 feet, but because of the way water refracts light, it is very likely that the 360 stitching would be off when video is shot underwater. For the best underwater shots, you'll likely want to use one of our HERO models like the GoPro HERO8 Black.

Can this camera be use while mounted to a chest mount without affecting the image?

You can definitely use the MAX with our Chesty mount, but your chest will obviously block the rear lens and you'd be too close to the lens to get a good stitch. That means that getting a full 360 shot would be tough, but the MAX has a HERO mode that can use just one of the lenses. In HERO mode, you'll get several field of view options with great stabilization. That's going to be your best setup with the MAX on a Chesty.

To extend your recording time, the easiest option is to bring along extra batteries. For solid helmets like motorcycle helmets, the GoPro Helmet Mount is a great option. It uses our curved adhesive mount to firmly attach to your helmet, and the buckle allows for a lot of adjustability to get the angle you want. For a vented helmet like a bike helmet, the Vented Helmet Strap Mount is a great option. It offers a secure mounting option that is also easily removable.

This is just a battery, without a separate charger. You can charge it in the GoPro, or you can get the battery with a charger by buying the Dual Battery Charger.

Does this work on surfboards ??

It might work on some boards, but to secure your GoPro we'd recommend using our Surfboard Mount. The Surfboard Mount has a strong adhesive that adheres to the board and comes with a safety tether in case the mount fails. If you do use a Suction Cup mount, you will want to make sure that the GoPro is secured with some type of backup like a separate tether or additional floatation in case a wave or other bump knocks the mount off the board.
