Does the gopro have to be in the case (shown in the picture) to fit on the mount?

Yes, if you have a HERO7 model or earlier. The 3-Way connects using the mounting fingers from the Frame or other housing that holds the GoPro. On later models like the HERO8 Black and the MAX, the mounting fingers are incorporated into the camera's body, so no additional Frame or housing is needed to connect it to the 3-Way.

Can you replace the lens on the hero 8 if it ever got damaged or scratched like you can on the 7?

The lens protector on the HERO8 Black is not replaceable. If you're looking for additional protection for that lens cover, take a look at out Tempered Glass Lens + Screen Protectors or the new Rollcage protective sleeve. The lens cover in the Rollcage is replaceable.

Is This Light Only For The 8? And do you carry the lights for the 7?

The Light Mod is designed to connect to the Media Mod for the HERO8 Black using a cold shoe mount. There are no GoPro lights created specifically for the HERO7 models, and there are not any GoPro housings or accessories for the HERO7 models that include a cold shoe connector, so the Light Mod does not have a native way to connect to those cameras. However, there may be some third-party housings that would work with a HERO7 and also have a cold shoe mount on them. Or, you can mount the Light Mod to a second cold shoe mount on your other gear or even hold it in your other hand.

7 black. Can wifi be turned off and still connect bluetooth?

The wifi connection is the main data transfer connection, so it is the one that needs to be on for the connection to work. The bluetooth connection is a supporting connection to help with functions like reactivating the wifi connection when the GoPro goes into a standby mode, so just having the bluetooth connection on and not the wifi connection is not an option.

The HERO7 Black has a few field of view options for you to choose from - Wide, SuperView, and Linear.

can i plug a wireless microphone ?

The HERO8 Black can accept an external mic when you use it with the Media Mod. The Media Mod has a 3.5mm mic input.
