What do you have to watch to be able to hear the subwoofer? The blue light is on and the power and the bass level is at 5.

Hi Jmack! The subwoofer is responsible for low frequency sounds, like the rumbles of an explosion in an action movie or the bass guitar and drum in your favorite music. It adds rich bass tones and deepens the sound quality you hear, but since the subwoofer only plays low tones, it will be silent when low frequency sounds are not in use. If you'd like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by toggling the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote, and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down. ^Patty

My new Samsung TV has an HDMI port for eARC, which I understand uses HDMI 2.1 Does this soundbar support HDMI 2.1?

Got the soundbar to work with initial setup but every time I turn the tv on now the soundbar keeps saying “not available“ when trying to push buttons..Volume comes out of the tv..we have to keep putting the tv on and off For it to work..very frustrating

Which is better Samsung 3.1 soundbar w/subwoofer or JBL 5.1-Channel soundbar w/ 10" Wireless Subwoofer? Why? Lastly: should we hire someone to help get this setup...reason being, we already have 3 remotes ( Direct TV, Firestick, volume/input)!!!

My soundbar keeps turning on and off by itself all night long. It is really annoying and I have no idea how to stop it from doing this. Any ideas? Anyone else have this issue?

Hi there! The Soundbar turns on by itself when another device connected to it tells it to. The solution depends on which device is causing the Soundbar to turn on. 1) For a Bluetooth source, press and hold the SOUND MODE button for 6 seconds while the Soundbar is on. Set it so that “OFF-BLUETOOTH POWER” appears on the display. 2) For an Optical source, press and hold the Left button for 6 seconds while the Soundbar is on. Set it so that “OFF-AUTO POWER LINK” appears on the display. 3) For an HDMI source, press and hold the Right button for 6 seconds while the Soundbar is on. Set it so that “OFF-ANYNET+” appears on the display. ^Patty

Do rear surround speakers come on automatically? I cannot tell if on or not>Thanks.

Hi John: The HW-T550 does not come with surround speakers. This model is compatible with SWA-8500S Rear Speaker Kit for a full surround experience. ^Patty
