My tv stand is around 45 inches long. I saw that the width of the tv's stand is 49.7 inches. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, it sounds like I would need a new stand if I got this tv. Am I reading this wrong?

Hi Jo! You would need a larger stand to support the TV or explore a wall mounting solution. The feet are spaced 49.7" apart, I would suggest a minimum of a 50" wide tabletop to support the TV. The more room you can provide the feet for support, the safer your TV will be from accidents or falling over. ^Tim

I'm not very smart about a "SMART" TV but does that mean it would have access to the internet like a PlayStation system has the little icon of the globe (web) or would I still have to use the PlayStation?

Hi Matts! Yes, smart refers to the TVs ability to connect to the internet to access streaming applications or a web browser. Samsung TVs feature a user friendly smart system built in called Tizen allowing you to access all of your favorite streaming content, a built in web browser, free TV with Samsung TV Plus, and a wide range of other great smart features. ^Tim
