Hello 6802, thanks for asking! These earbuds are not impervious to water damage in any situation. Exposure to water, liquids or chemicals can cause damage or issues with the earbuds. Damaged products are not covered under warranty. You will need to replace the earbuds, if the earbuds or case is damaged. A single replacement earbud cannot be purchased. However, you can continue to use your single earbud with the phone the earbuds were previous paired to. If you continue to use a single earbud, you will not be able to update the software. But you can connect the remaining earbud to a new phone the exact same way you would connect both earbuds using the Galaxy Wearable app. ^Elizabeth
