Can the Samsung remote for the 50" Class 8 Series 4K UHD TV also control a Dish Wally receiver?

Looking for a TV that we can also hook our VHS/DVD player to. Have been told the new TV's do not have this capability. If they do not is there some way to hook them to the TV.
