I am looking to add a Samsung sound bar to this particular TV set...

Is there a quality Samsung sound bar that integrates well with this TV? ie Single Remote usage? Does this TV have HDMI audio out ability?

Joe,

The audio bars and television use different code banks to keep either remote from adjusting both the TV and audio bar's volume at the same time.

This model does not have ARC - Audio Return Channel - capabilities with HDMI, but any televisions with either a digital optical audio port or an analog port will work just fine with this model.

Does this Samsung tv upscale standard defintion well? would it have a decent picture quality?

i have directv standard definiton

It can upscale SD signals, and this model includes a great upscaling processor that will make the best of your SD signals. However the best playback will be when your source is a HD source.

If you are getting an HD television, you might want to upgrade your boxes to HD boxes. You'll see an amazing difference between the two. It really is significant.

You might consider one of the Samsung Blu-Ray players. The BD-H5900 is a great, current middle-of-the-road player that has some great features, including "Smart TV" streaming.

All of the Samsung Blu-Ray players also support DVD discs, and even CD Audio discs.

smart tv or tv with hdmi port for streaming movies,etc

i cannot figure out what the best choice for me would be.i want to stream movies and tv shows on my tv, without interrupting computer use. if i get a smart tv, do i still have to connect to computer? or get a second internet connection and plug directly into the connection- but i have the broadband that connects the computer with a phone jack.

You can connect all of your wireless devices to the same wireless network.

So Smartphones, computers, and Smart TVs can all be connected to your network.

If your network is wired only, you can get a router and share the Internet connection among all of your devices.

what is necessary to stream movies,etc. on the tv?

i want to stream movies onto the tv without interrupting computer use. do i connect directly to the broadband that works from a phone jack? if so, how? would that require a smart tv? it was suggested to just get a dumb tv with a hdmi port(mine has s-port) and use a cable direct from the pc to the tv, but that would interrupt computer, right?

We're not sure exactly what you're concerned about.

If you have a wireless network, you can connect multiple devices to it at the same time. Computers, Smartphones, Smart TVs.. all can share the same network.

You can get a SmartTV, and many apps will adjust streaming quality based on available bandwidth.

The television includes Wi-Fi, so that part is built-in. To connect, however, you need a wireless network in your house with Internet service and a modem.

HDMI cables are required for connecting other devices, like Cable/Sat boxes, game consoles and Blu-Ray players to your television.

If you want to use it as a monitor with your computer, your computer must have an HDMI output, and support 1080 or 720 resolution.

Can multiple Shape speakers act as a home theater/surround sound for my Samsung TV (UN55C9000)?

The Samsung demo video shows (screen capture attached) and states that the Shape speakers can be used like a 5 speaker home theater, all one needs is a hub and the speakers. Is this accurate?

Goal: I'd like to connect at least 2 speakers to the tv wirelessly through the hub, which itself is connected to my wireless router. The TV is a Samsung with wireless capability (as well as has hardwire connections for optical, coax, hdmi, Ethernet, rca, aux).

So, if this can be done, can you advise on how to make up a home theater using Shape speakers?

Yes, you can connect a 5-speaker surround sound system using the Shape speakers, and the hub.

Additionally, you can use the speakers and assign different audio signals in different areas and control the audio of each speaker through your smartphone or tablet.
