In regard to the bays, there are different sizes and types of storage drives and each of those drives may have an accompanying bay in a system like this. For example, like in the specs section, or on the Legion T5i's product specification sheet (which can be viewed here: https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion_T5_26IRB8?M=90UT001CUS), you'll see the mention of 3.5 or 3.5", which is referring to the size of the drive. 3.5" is usually in reference to HDD drives. There's also 2.5", which in most cases is also for HDD, but some solid-state drives (SSD) can be sized for this storage bay. When M.2 drives are mentioned, this is for PCIe (connect directly to the systemboard) SSD drives that are significantly smaller in size than older style SSDs. These M.2 SSDs come in different sizes, but this system will accommodate even the largest size, M.2 2280.
