I saw this in a store and it looked like the keyboard had a wire--is this just an in-store security device, or does this model have a real wireless keyboard?

The Lenovo IdeaCentre A540-24 All-In-One system model number F0EM006YUS, ships with both a wireless keyboard and mouse. They both use the same USB WiFi receiver installed within a USB slot on the computer by the user. The USB receiver is found in the battery compartment of the mouse. The keyboard uses a rechargeable internal battery. The Micro USB to USB cable that comes with the keyboard is used for charging the keyboard battery. Once the battery is charged, the cable can be removed for wireless use. The mouse uses replaceable, standard alkaline batteries.

No. The power button is side mounted and the fingerprint reader is still active for login in tablet mode.
