I am looking into this product for communication purposes. Wonder how it makes video calls, what does it use. Long distance calls. Also looking into the portal.

I have a Google mini assistant & I'm getting this Lenovo smart display. Can I use both still? Like put my mini in my bedroom & this one in living room. Would they know the difference from each other?

Hi Greg, Yes! Both of these devices can be used together. Try re-naming your speakers "bedroom speaker" and "living room speaker" and setting their respective locations in the Google Home app. This will allow for your devices to communicate and work in perfect harmony.

Do you think that the LSD will eventually link to ring doorbells? This is a key for me.

will the Lenovo 8 inch unit mesh screen to screen with a google home hub unit while making a call? thank you. allan

Hello, if I am understanding you incorrectly I apologize. The Lenovo 8" Smart Display with Google Assistant can make calls to your Google Home Hub. If you are making a call from your Lenovo device independently the other Google Hub will not "share" the screen of the Lenovo Device unless called from it.

If I have a Lenovo Smart Display and Google Duo, can I exchange video calls with someone who has an Amazon Show or other non-Google smart display appliance? Can I exchange video calls with someone who has an Apple i-phone. Can I make Skype video calls?

When I ask my Lenovo to call so & so only 3 names from my contact list come up. How is this suppose to work? Can I make a call from it?
