No, the processor is not upgradable , it is soldered to the motherboard. This model, the Lenovo IdeaCentre A340-22 All-In-One system, model number F0EA000GUS, ships with the Quad-Core Intel Pentium J5005 processor. It has a base speed of 1.5GHz. This is the idle speed of the computer and the processing speed the system returns to when the workload is light to moderate. As the workload increases this processor can automatically increase processing speed all the way up to 2.8GHz through the 4-Cores. This boost lasts only as long as the workload demands. The processor automatically goes back to the base speed of 1.5GHz when the demand on the processor lessens. Check the requirements of any programs you will be using with the computer. The program may require a base speed to reach a minimum level to be able to handle the program's work flow, as the boost speed of the processor is momentary only and the processor reverts back to the base speed after the workload stabilizes.
