How would you compare this laptop to my office supplied Lenovo lap top model T460s? Reason being if they are compatible I will purchase one to have my personal file tranfer to this lap top.

The IdeaPad 330-15 laptop with the Intel Celeron processor configuration is an entry level, light use system. The Lenovo ThinkPad T460s is configured with a Intel Core i5 (6th Gen) 6300U / 2.4 GHz, a mid-range processor, much more powerful than the Celeron processor.

I need a laptop strictly for video chats/Skype type things. I have my own web cam so will not be relying on the one which is with the laptop. No video editing etc just live video chats. Will this suffice for that purpose?

Yes, this system is capable of Skype communications. Please keep in mind, this is an entry level, light use system with its Intel Celeron processor. The quality of your internet video is also dependent on the speed of your internet connection.
