It is lap top good for photo editing
That will depend on the requirements and compatibility of the editing software you will be using. We recommend you check with the editing software publisher's web site for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

The specs say that the ram is currently at 8GB but expandable to 16GB. I want to confirm that is true and that the memory is not soldered on. Thanks

There is 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard. There is another 4GB of RAM within the one RAM memory slot within this configuration. Your certified technician can replace this 4GB stick od RAM with an 8GB stick of RAM for a system total of 12GB RAM.
