Returned due to excessive heat. This laptop ran so hot I literally could not have it sit in my lap.

This is an air-cooled system. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. Be sure to keep the cooling vents clear to prevent overheating.
