Can I use the Microsoft Surface Pen with this? If not is there a list somewhere of compatible pens besides the Lenovo brand?

The Yoga 720 is compatible with many Wacom pens in addition to the Lenovo Active Pens.

Is the space bar badly designed or did I get a lemon? If I press anywhere in the couple centimeters on either end of the space bar, it "clicks" but will not type a space--I have to press near the middle.

The spacebar should work no matter where you press it. You may want to have your local Best Buy Geek Squad take a look at the device.

I have to purchase a laptop for college because my Mac isn't compatible. How many GHz is this one and does it have an Ethernet port?

The Intel Core I-5-7200U has a base speed of 2.50 GHz and a Max Turbo speed of 3.10 GHz. There is no ethernet port on the device, but you can use a USB to ethernet adapter to easily make this device ethernet capable.

Is the fan really loud?

The fan noise is normal, there has been no issue with inordinate fan noise with this model.

The one included is just too big and heavy, not suitable for carrying around. What is a good lightweight adapter for this? Would 45W/65W adapter work (I understand they will charge slowly).
