I don’t see iPhone 8plus listed as compatible. Any idea if it is?

The only issue I have is that I'm a little hard of hearing and have the volume turned up all the way but it is quieter than my last PC. I can hear it but would like to know if I can turn it up the volume further.

If I decide not to renew office 365, does this laptop have similar programs to word, excell and powerpoint?

No. If you do not renew Microsoft Office 365, you will need to add a replacement Office Program Suite to have this type of functionality.

Will I still have tech support if I do not purchase a protection warranty, and if so, for how long?

There is a limited 1-year manufacturer's warranty that covers OEM (original build) issues. It does not cover software issues like virus issues. The limited manufacturer's warranty is valid in North America only.

Can this computer run steam? That's more for what i'm looking for. But i don't want something so expensive.

We recommend you check with the streaming service web site for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration. Your internet connection speed will also affect your streaming experience.

I've been looking at this laptop for a while now but I knew about the display having a problem where a black line formed at the top of it. I was wondering if this was still an issue?

There was an issue with a particular 4K screen model. That screen is no longer used.
