When I plug my headphones into the back of the monitor I don't get any sound and it's very frustrating please help?

Are you using the HDMI port to connect your computer to the monitor? The headphone jack works in conjunction with the HDMI port. HDMI carries both HD video and audio, VGA only carries video. If you are using the VGA port, there will be no sound at the monitor, you will need to plug your headset into your computer headset port.
