hooked it up to a projector to display a power point presentation. Color on the laptop screen, gray scale on the projector. How to get it to work?

It sounds like your projector is not compatible with the Chrome Operating System. We recommend you check with the projector manufacturer for compatibility with the Chrome Operating System and drivers.

Linux is a superior OS. (I use Linux Mint). However, I understand that Lenovo and Microsoft have made BIOS modifications to lock out Linux. I'll never consider Lenovo until this collusion is reversed.

Does this configuration come with a 1-year or a 3-year warranty standard? And is that depot, or limited mail-in?

The manufacturer's limited warranty is a 1-year warranty. It is evaluated at the depot and if it can be fixed there it will be. More serious issues will require mail back to the manufacturer for repair.

Why the description do not say that the product is locked to one OS? It is quite important information. Would returns, based on misleading product description, be accepted?

Best Buy's 15 day return policy is a "No Questions Asked" policy. Within that 15 day period, you can return a Best Buy purchased product, that is not damaged and still with your receipt, for any reason.

Yes, this monitor is plug and play for operating systems (Windows) 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. We have no drivers for Windows XP. It is possible that the Windows 7 driver might work with XP but I can't guarantee that.
