I am currently in the process of looking for a laptop to download Revit 2017 on and I want to think that this laptop would work for it but I am just not 100% sure of it. I would rather ask now than make such a large purchase only to find out it won't work

Why would I need a i5 over this i3 processor?

The I-5 processor would be for more demanding work. Check with the software publisher of the software you will be using for their minimum/recommended requirements, they may requirement the processing power of the I-5.

can I install windows 7 (oem version) either as a dual boot or to replace windows 10?

Does virtualbox run on this computer? no error and such when using kali lunix virtually
