You will need to check with Best Buy for the details on this specific system. It could be Best Buy or it could have been a 3rd party that Best Buy purchased the system from.

I have a dinosaur of a computer so I'm overdue a new laptop. I mainly surf the web and for 99% of what I need personally, I can use my iPad. But now, I am looking to invest in a laptop to begin a blog. Will this laptop serve this purpose?

This is an entry level system, made for light use of such programs as Microsoft Office and web browsing. If this sound like what your computing needs will be, then yes, this would be a good choice.

When I go to plug in my headphones I plug them into the microphone port so I can talk but then I am not able to hear anything but when I plug them into just the headphone port I cant talk. What am I supposed to do?

You will need an adapter for 3.5mm to USB or a "Y" splitter for 3.5mm that will plug in to both the microphone and headset jack and plug your headset in to the "Y" connector.
