Can it run steam for gaming?

You cannot run add the Steam app on this IdeaPad Slim 3i as it comes with the Windows 11 Home operating system in S mode.

For context, S mode – it is a more secure, lighter version of the Windows 11 Operating System that only allows the downloading of applications from the Microsoft Store. If you try to launch or install an executable or .exe file, the system prevents it.

You could use this Yoga 9i 2-in-1 in your laptop, but with its H series, higher wattage processor, the system may need to be in quiet/battery saving mode to prevent the processor from heating up by delivering as much speed as the system designates for the task at hand, thus warming the laptop. Also, the air intake for the laptop is at the bottom, and when the laptop is even partially covered, this can affect airflow and proper heat exchange, also contributing to the heat produced internally.

To help ensure this is not the case, we recommend considering the newer Yoga 9i 2-in-1 10th gen Aura Edition laptop instead, as it features Intel's Core Ultra 7 Series 2 performant, yet efficient processing that runs cooler in comparison to the processor that is in the Yoga tied to this question and product page.
