This VTech CM18445 corded phone is compatible with anywhere from 1 to 4 telephone lines and connects wirelessly with up to 10 handsets. The digital answering system records up to 180 minutes of messages, announcements and memos.

Can I use the phones without a phone line for internal use only. I was thinking about these for my house but did not want a landline service. ALSO how many digits can the extensions be? Are they able to hang on the wall?

call I access the answering machine from outside the area using a code?

Hi - Yes, you can remotely access the built-in answering system of the VTech IS8151-4. Here's the procedure to remotely access the answering system.

1. Dial your phone number on any touch tone phone.
2. Once the answering system answers, enter your unique remote access code.
3. Enter a remote command.

Hi - The VTech DM221 and DM221-2 are non-expandable model thus you cannot add additional parent unit/baby unit to work with a single base unit. However, you can use two sets of the baby monitor in the same house but make sure that they are at least 3 feet away from each other to prevent interference. Thank you! - VTech Support
