How many parent units can be used with the baby unit? You have a package that offers 2 parent units. Can more parent units be used with one baby unit?

Hi - The VTech DM221 is a non-expandable unit. The only parent/baby unit that will work with the system are the ones that came with the package. The bundle DM221-2 comes with 2 parent units and 1 baby unit.

Can someone leave a message while I’m on the phone?

Austin - The answering machine of the VTech CS6949 can only pick up if the line is not in use. You may want to subscribe to Voicemail from your Telephone Service Provider as a back up. You just have to make sure that the number of rings for the phone's built in answering machine is lower than Voicemail.

Harry - The telephone base and cordless handsets of the VTech IS8151-4 will display on the screen "Home line in use" when a system handset or another telephone on the same home line is in use.

Hi - The parent unit of the VTech DM111 does not have a microphone. It is only the baby unit that has a microphone which is used for detecting sounds that will be transmitted to the parent unit.

I have few questions: 1- will the caller be able to dial extensions directly without passing through the main handset 2- can I set up an automated voice reply for callers ( for example for accounting dial 101, for sales dial 102.....)

Zee - The built in answering machine for the VTech IS8151-5 will only enable callers to leave a message right away after the tone. It is not capable of asking callers to enter a specific extension number. You may want to check the 4-line phone model CM18445, which does have an auto attendant feature.
