Can you set the handsets to answer the phone when lifted from the base/cradle or do you have to push "talk" button each time?

Blondie - The VTech IS8151-4 does not have an auto answer feature. You need to press the HOME/FLASH button or any dialing keys to answer an incoming call.

Does the VTech5 base station have a back up battery? If so, how much run time does it provide? If the back up battery is depleted, will the base station operate on the land line alone?

Hi - Yes, the VTech IS8151-5 does have battery backup mode. If battery is fully charged, it can supply approximately 1-2 hours of power to the phone base. However, this will still depend on the usage of the phone and age of the battery.

Can you store contact phone numbers?

Hi - Yes, the VTech CS6114 can store up to 30 phonebook entries.

To add a directory entry on the handset:

Step 1. Enter the phone number using the dialing keys when the phone is not in use. Press MENU.
Step 2. Press MENU/SELECT to move on to enter the name. The handset displays Enter name. Use the dialing keys to enter the name.
Step 3. Press MENU/SELECT to save. The handset displays Saved and you will hear a confirmation tone.
