Hi - We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the VTech VM5254. Like many electronic devices, a reset may resolve the issue. To reset the baby monitor:
Step 1. Unplug the AC power for 1 minute.
Step 2. Turn off the parent unit by pressing and holding the POWER button.
Step 3. Slide the ON/OFF switch to OFF from the baby unit for 1 minute.
Step 4. Press and hold the POWER button on the parent unit and wait until they link back up. Reconnect and test.
