System to TV?

I have an old Toshiba TV Model 42H82 with Colorstream connections. The Colorstream jacks can be used with Progrressive (480p, 720p) and interlace (480i, 1080i) scan systems. I have no idea what this means. Can you tell me what system (DVD Player and Receiver) I can purchase for use with this ancient TV? I don't want a Blu-Ray Player just something simple to upgrade to a better quality picture to play my old DVD's.

You will get the best quality picture with this TV if you use the Component Video inputs on the TV, and you should look for a receiver that has Component Video outputs. Component Video inputs and outputs are connected via three cables in one cord that carry the video signal, and are color coded red, green, and blue. Any DVD player should work the same, since DVD's output a standard definition signal. I would suggest looking at a complete home theater system, since often times a standalone receiver that has component video outputs is often the same price as a complete home theater system. How come I can't find a store to ship it to?

I'm trying to order a laptop and it's not letting me have an option other than to have it shipped, but it shows "Unavailable" at all the stores. How can I order it?

If you put this laptop in your cart and choose the in store pickup option, and then it says that the laptop is unavailable at the store you chose you would need to pick a new store, or have the laptop shipped directly to your home from BestBuy.com. If you are being told that the laptop is unavailable for in store pickup when you choose that option, it means the store you chose doesn't have that laptop in stock. I hope this helps!

You would not need a convertor box for a new LCD HDTV. An HDTV convertor box converts an over-the-air digital signal to an analog signal, and since an LCD HDTV is digital not analog you would not need to convert the signal. I hope this helps!

tv set dimensions?

i have an entertainment center with an opening 31 1/2" hieght X 34 1/2" wide and 20" deep. I am wondering what size television will fit in this space as online I cannot find demensions of tv sets thanks

Almost all new TV’s are in the 16:9 wide screen dimensions, and since TV screens are measured diagonally a TV with a 16:9 screen ratio that is 34 inches wide will not be nearly 31 inches high. Most 32 inch widescreen TV’s are between 31 and 34 inches wide, and between 22 and 24 inches high with their stand. On BestBuy.com the exact dimensions of each TV are listed under the specifications tab on the product screen. I hope this helps!

Which GPS will work in Guam?

I am in the military and I am going to Guam. But I would like to get a GPS before I get there.

annoying sound

I have a hum in my speakers when the audio is turned on on my home theater sysem. how can I get rid of it?

This hum is most likely caused by the speakers being wired in reverse polarity, or the home theater system is not grounded. I hope this helps!

why doesn't my screen light work?

It is a HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop.
I can see the desktop wallpaper and the icons if I shine a light on the screen. Is this a setting problem or is it something not working properly?

Most laptops are set to reduce the screen brightness when they are using battery power to conserve on energy usage, and if your screen is only dark when it is running on battery power you could try changing this setting. To change the screen brightness while running on battery power press the fn key and the f8 key to increase brightness, and press the fn key and the f7 key to decrease brightness. If this doesn't resolve the issue I would have the laptop looked at by a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy® store. I hope this helps!

Will the RB guitar and drums for the PS3 work on the PS2 and if so how do you hook it up?

The guitar and drum controllers that come with Rock Band for the PS3 gaming system should work on a PS2 gaming system, but keep in mind that the PS3 version of the game will not work with the PS2 gaming system. The controllers connect to the system via the usb ports on both systems. I hope this helps!

If you want to have the best listening experience I would suggest going with a 5.1 channel surround sound system; which includes two speakers in the front, and two speakers behind the viewer, as well as a subwoofer. There are many choices, and without knowing more information specific to you it would be hard to suggest one specific system.
