firmware upgrade PN58C8000
the BB magnolia rep suggested that the PN58C8000 will have a firmware upgrade from samsung by the end of august. what will the upgrade fix, and can the upgrade be complete though the tv's wireless link? thanks.
Although the update can be performed directly on the TV though the internet, unfortunately at this time, I do not have any information on any firmware updates for this model. For updates and information on future firmware updates, please visit Samsung's website.

Can I access the internet via WIFI or do I have to connect a hard line?
As a matter of fact, the PN58C8000 will allow you to access Internet content though Internet@TV by either connecting your TV to a wired home network or a WiFi home network with a Samsung Linkstick WIS09ABGN.

Is there a chance I will hear a buzzing noise?
I've read some reviews on plasma tv's, and saw that some people had a buzzing noise problem. Is that a common problem with plasma tv's?
The buzzing sound your plasma TV makes is normal. It's caused by the electrical charges that are used to create the images on the screen. The buzzing, however, should not be so loud that you can hear it when the volume on the TV is set at normal levels.
If your Plasma TV is buzzing loudly, follow these steps:
1. Set the volume of the TV to the setting you normally use.
2. Stand at least 15 feet away. If you do not hear the buzz, your Plasma TV is working normally.
3. If you continue to hear a loud buzz when you are 15 feet from the TV, return to the TV and see if any cables are resting against the metal back cover of the TV. If cables are resting against the back panel, reposition them so that they do not rest against the back panel and see if that reduces the buzzing.

Does the digital optical audio out on the tv put out a 5.1 signal or just 2.1 stereo?
my receiver does not have HDMI pass through so I would be connecting the HDMI cables from the dvd player, xbox, etc directly to the tv and then running the audio from the tv to the receiver
From the info I have, the optical output on the Samsung TVs will only output 2.1 audio when passing audio signals from digital sources (HDMI, component).

the add says built in tuner what does this mean?
